Based on AC’s photos this thing should be in communist Russia.

Because the "in-game" experience is what is more important here rather than how good it looks on a post card.

Looks as though the concept has changed pretty significantly though.

I mean, that looks a lot better to me as well...

Maybe the volume on the right hand side was cut due to costs, but that definitely feels like a more cohesive design...having some kind of portico or porch on the right does seem like something they are trying to retain however

Its hard to judge a building on the one render provided in that tweet (even though I am a little concerned with it), we'll just have to wait and see what else is released.

Come on, this is CP. We overreact to everything even though we don't have complete/up-to-date information.

The renders of how it looks on 12th ave will dictate how well the building looks. Since that is an important road, I would assume that it's not gonna be a blank wall, and will be a prominent side of the building as well.

I just hope they rename 12th Ave Jarome Iginla Ave.
We can nickname the rink Jarome's Place.

This thread is a great reminder to all design professionals reading through here about why we keep preliminary renders under NDA. Who knows, maybe some of these early renders are still under NDA....

As mentioned above, based on the latest render it certainly looks like the design for the 12th Ave approach has already changed from AC's posts.

This entire arena thing, from like 2012 or whenever onwards, has been one gigantic debacle.

Also I'm not "ranting", or "freaking out" merely expressing an opinion. Quite the opposite actually, you express an opinion that is anti-Flames and you'll see people freaking out.

Look it's their first picture, I expect there will be many, many changes and hopefully they make it look and generally just be better, but I wasn't even personally feeling the need for a new arena in the first place. I like the Saddledome, it's awesome. Just because Edwards feels the need for another $200 million in franchise value doesn't mean we had to do it. Relatively wealthy people had to wait 5 minutes to piss and so now the city has to give a billionaire hundreds of millions for their private business.

And yeah, it looks fugly. Do you think it looks great? Why lie to yourself just because it's the Flames? Here is a boring unoriginal box, great. Anyway, it's honestly not a big deal (seriously, I'm just bored and again just giving an opinion, which CP doesn't like if it doesn't conform).

How can you tell that it's a boring unoriginal box from one picture at one angle?

Also, is it easier to take having your opinion questioned if you believe "CP" doesn't like opinions "like yours"? This is always baffling to me. People present opinions, someone questions it or criticizes it (as is normal) and suddenly the problem is "CP" and the inability to handle your bold, non-conformist opinion, instead of just accepting your opinion might be a turd floating in the kiddie pool. 95% of the posters here seem to be able to have a discussing without their victim complex taking over.

I love T Mobil centre but it has almost nothing to do with exterior. It’s access, layout, concourse, seating options, food and beverage, sight lines, etc.

IMO Fiserv shows how the photo angle changes everything. One side: Cool! Other side: weird.

If we got something similar to T-Mobile and the GS Warrior arenas, that would be great.
