The worst of these parks is definitely Marineland. That was an insane amount of money for what you get, and I wouldn't recommend that to anyone!

I worked at Calaway for a summer as a teen and vowed to never return. It is my personal hell.

That said, it’s a pretty unique feature of this small Canadian city. I don’t know how many city’s of 1m people that have a theme park like that.

And some pretty horrific stories of animal treatment.

Also I once saw a very young Glass Tiger play the main stage at Calaway.
Was pretty rad.

From the video, the guy from calaway park seemed more interested in the kids statements about calaway park “going under”

I haven’t watched the video at issue but that could be a different can of worms.

Your choice in Calgary is Calaway Park or nothing. So you either think it's good value or you don't.
Idiots on both sides.
As an aside, Calaway Park is still strange due to the strange remaining pieces from the 1 year that it was Flintstones themed.
Honest question, how are there idiots on both sides?

One side pointed out that it’s the same pricing as Canada’s Wonderland, which is a far superior theme park, and the other asked for his phone number to offer free tickets and instead threatened to sue him.

Logically I guess you could assume the mullet guy may be an idiot, but how in this situation?

You don’t think it’s valid to compare similar things in different cities?

They had a very catchy jingle, I'll grant them that.

Then you go there aaand.....its just sadness.

It is a sadness-themed themepark.

"Hi kids! Do you have Joy in your hearts?? Not for long....."

What really got me was buddy's unwillingness to give his name on the phone.

I have contentious discussions all the time at work, and people talk about suing and demand my name. Well hell yeah you can have it, I don't want my name spelt wrong on court documents.

Amateur hour at Calaway Park

What's his next video going to be? that the Calgary Tower is a rip off because the CN tower is taller?

Canada's wonderland has to compete with attractions in the USA, and other entertainment options in GTA.

Callaway has no competition and only operates part of the year.

Cost structures vastly different, and each company will charge the maximum the market will bear. As will every company.

People go to Calaway Park because that's all there is.

There's no comparison whatsoever between Calaway Park and Canada's Wonderland, but the park is clearly geared more towards kids and smaller rides and for what it is, it's fine.

It reminds me more of a park like Santa's Village in the US and is priced similar with similar rides.

https://www.santasvillage.com/park-info-tickets/

It's nice that we have it considering we are a smaller city, but it's still a big meh.

Silver wood between Sandpoint and Coer dlene is 93 US for two days and is a good weekend trip with the water park and theme park. You hit the 3 coasters right in the morning and then hang out in the water park all afternoon

I haven't watched the video but I see it's about a mullet head discussing theme parks and don't see anything remarkable here.

Complaining about Theme Parks on Youtube must be the Ultimate Millennial Flex.

"These rides suck and this food is over-priced and its expensive to get in and the lines are long!"

Oh please...don't stop there, stomp your feet and pound your fists! If you're going to have a temper tantrum like a 5 year old at least have the goddamned common decency to not half-ass it!

Amusement Parks:

As a child: "Wheee"

Their Parents: "At least they're leaving me alone for a few minutes with only a slightly increased risk of dying and/or hepatitis."

As a childless adult: "What in the #### are you even doing here?"

Does Calaway Park still have decaying Flintstone themed decoration/characters everywhere?

Regardless of calaway park's point of view on this, it's like this fellow got his PR degree from a Cracker Jack box

So it wasn't like Class Action Park where the teens are all getting drunk, high and having sex?

Probably.

Current children probably have no idea why its there. But its important to keep them guessing and getting them used to a pre-industrial age.

One day they may have to live in stone houses with no plumbing, but its unlikely a domesticated Brontosaurus is going to help them out....
