The more I see these offers (the rumoured NYR/VGK ones), the more I understand why Eichel hasn't been traded.
...except to Calgary, because Treliving should clearly step up the offer a touch and bring this thing home!

We can easily beat those offers.
Makes me think the health risk has kept GMs from putting a strong offer forward.
Except they have no issue paying out the nose for FAs not as good that carry as much risk. Funny where they draw their lines.
Somebody needs to get Treliving turnt then get him on the phone with Buffalo. Dude needs to nut up and take a leap, or we'll be stuck in mediocrity land for many more years.

It would actually be quite easy for Vegas to be able to fit Eichel, especially since Buffalo would surely take salary back
Tuch and Smith takes you to almost 10 on their own. Patrick's contract is surely going to not be anywhere close to expensive; he needs a show-me year more than anything. McNabb makes 2.5 and is in the last year of his deal.
You could move one of Pacioretty or Marchessualt too, since they don't have full no-trade clauses.
It might not be likely, but just because they're up against the cap now, they're not necessarily out. Fill out your lineup with the cheap filler leftover.

If Eichel was a one-man show, it didn't help the Sabres much. We could easily trade for him and still be stuck in the muck.
