It’s mostly funding. Canada provides more funding to women than other countries.

I watched some surfing today. Has to be the most boring event to watch in the Olympics. 30 minute "matches" or whatever it's called and most of it is the surfer paddling to get to waves.
Does anything else compete in the most boring event?

She really does close out races incredibly well

Yep, to the point where if she's even close going into the last length, I just assume she's got it. That last 20m or so was a lot tighter than I was expecting, looked like she may not even be top 4...but of course she came through in the final 5m and snagged 3rd. Such an impressive closer.

Byron McDonald is an amazing analyst. Think I’ve heard him call swimming most of my life and I’m in my 40s. Miss him with Steve though.

I’m not watching the Canadian coverage unfortunately, and don’t think I have seen one male Canadian swimmer yet. I haven’t seen every final but what’s the deal? We used to have some world class male swimmers.

I didn't realize the online feeds don't have ads, at least not the sailing one I'm watching. So much better without interruptions constantly.

Too bad. Summer got them off to such a great start, and it just started slipping from there. Still a good performance, the top 3 were on fire. That was an impressive comeback by the U.S. to almost win it

Really interesting to see that tactic backfire on the Australian team.
