Why did we have to give up a draft pick to get a backup goalie? Seems like a waste

I love this trade!

It is Kipperesque!

If it does not work out its a 3rd round pick.

It normally takes many years for a goalie to find his game. That is why I hate drafting goalies early.

Guy has impressive AHL numbers and is still young.

Probably now our best goalie prospect. Wolf might disagree. Wolf needs a few more years though. This guy is ready now. Or should be.

A couple sites have him listed as the Bruins’ #6 ranked prospect.

Yes. This must be his CP nickname from now on. Well done.

They sure are. It turns out, it's not that interesting a character, and being a Green Lantern seems like no fun.

But I can't change it now, after 11,000 posts, everyone would be confused. And the other Green Lantern might feel abandoned.

No, this is the prison I chose.

The prison of Star Wars was forced upon me.

Can't help but wonder, when are we actually going to promote and use our own goalies as back-ups rather than trading picks for other teams' backups?..

I thought Boston was going to give him the reigns this season honestly, he has a lot of upside

I don't get it from Boston's POV, I think their window is closing especially if they expect Ullmark to replace Rask. Giving up a 23 year old with a bright future seems like a mistake

I'm glad he's a Flame

750k, young with upside

Vs

Paying a couple mil to compete with bidders for old and declining free agents

I don't think its a bad use of a pick if he factors into your future at the position.

The minimal cost may help open the door for additional acquisitions at forward or defence

When one develops and shows they can play in the NHL with some level of consistency? We haven't even developed a dominant AHL goaltender in quite some time.
