Who cares what Oilers fans think. We should be looking at what the league is doing, not north.

Uh oh... If Johnny picks up Coleman's pickle juice after a goal, thinking it's the purple Gatorade... That could end our season right there.

Hyman and Oiler fans will be blinded by the diamonds in Coleman’s 2 SC rings.

It will be a good way to get Johnny to eat more vegetables.

I like it.
Not the term, but a solid player we could use and a RW.

Won't move the team forward enough on its own, but looking at the signing in isolation it should be a good move.

I like the signing, it will add more depth, add an element to the PK

I understand the Flames had to offer more years,

Last 2 years will be tough.

It seems to me that the Flames will be keeping the Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk line together and that Coleman comes in to solidify the second line with Monahan and Mangiapane.

Having a second line of players that are likely locks for 20 goals is a lot of skill in the top 6. I'm pretty happy with the skill level of the team and I expect this to be a very competitive team this season.

The Coleman, Zadorov, and Pitlick transactions also reflect the identity that the Flames will play. The Flames are going to be very difficult to score on and that is going to result in wins. I don't mind this offseason at all so far.

This signing definitely makes the Flames faster. I think that if he plays on a line with Gaudreau then the Flames have a very fast transition line. It would create a lot more odd man rushes. I think the Flames really need D that would be able to find the likes of Gaudreau/Coleman/Dube with quick/good passes to counter attack with speed.

I have no idea how this contract ages, but it's hard to be too optimistic about the last 2 years on the deal.

Who in the world is looking for Coleman for scoring
This is not what you said in the post to which Bingo responded. You said:

Simply put: Coleman looks like a good second-line winger who fills a hole in the top six.

I like the addition of Coleman. That said the term is absolute crap. This has buy-out written all over it

Right but what I responded to is your comment ...

Yeah but not very good numbers for 2nd liner

Which was easy to disprove.

So why are you defending a completely different statement now? The poor 2nd line production argument didn't work?

I hope they add more offence too, but trying to bring in your dark cloud with statements that aren't accurate won't fly.

Coleman has put up excellent results going back to his time in New Jersey.

There's a reason the Lightning traded a 1st AND Nolan Foote (also a 1st) for Coleman, because he was an excellent player with New Jersey, and excellent in his time in Tampa
Oh I’m not denying I knew nothing about him before Tampa. I knew he played in New Jersey but there wasn’t a huge reason for me to take notice of him, right or wrong.

Sign me up too.

He was a noticeable player in Jersey, and stood out as a great add by Tampa.

He was stapled to matthews and marner and didn't put up those numbers.

If that's the expectation up north then people are going to be a little disappointed.

20/50 is what you're probably looking at for Hyman.

45 points from Coleman here will probably bring much more value with his other assets.

Ok I’ll be careful next time. Internet is hard lol

All I meant is Coleman alone is not enough to improve scoring

But if you get passed the bias, I did say I like him

I think he brings the character that few Flames have. Hopefully, Monahan, Gaudreau and Lindholm can pick that up from him. If they do then he is worth it.

Last 3 years or so relative to his caphit is going to be a pita but this team either has to show results now or be torn apart anyways. Might be one of the few additions that makes me want to watch more regularly this season.
