Yeah, let's not let this backup thing fall by the wayside.

Ideally that would've been Halak. Kind of miffed they let the whales get dibs.

I wouldn't bet anything on Markstrom staying healthy the full year.

That window has passed for him I think. The goalie market has shrunk to the size of a raisin in about half an hour.

I wouldn't hate the idea of getting someone with some promise as a backup, since we already have the veteran starter. Would cost some assets but possibly be worth it

If the Flames get Eichel, thrilled will be a very weak word.

Could they still pull it off cap-wise without sending back Tkachuk?

Yes, you can go 10 percent over the cap in the offseason.

And they can make moves after or prior to make it balance out.

I swear an Eichel deal involves mangiapane.

If Monahan and another roster player go. But really the trade probably has tkachuk in it if it happens

Would have to have Monahan or Tkachuk going the other way. If you want to pay more in picks/prospects you give up Monahan.

That's who I'd want if I was buffalo.

Guys, please remember Buffalo has no desire to take massive chunks of cap in their Eichel trade. It's been reported many times.

I don't think so. I don't think Tkachuk will be a part of the deal. I think it will be Monahan, Mangiapane, and prospects/pics.

Might as well put all chips in. Seriously. No middle ground here.

God, that probably means 2 1st rounders.

Hard to believe Buffalo has any interest in Monny as he centrepiece.

Tkachuk doesn't fit them either, but he could easily be moved for picks and prospects.

Monahan, Mangiapane, prospect, 1st could get it done. Wouldn't do it if I were the Flames. Maybe Monahan, Dube, Ruzicka, and a 1st. I could live with that, if the Flames are okay with the health angle. Eichel has to be healthy. The thing that I'm not sure about, what does Sutter think about Eichel? Is he a Sutter player? The team is definitely shifting as predicted when Sutter was hired. Does Eichel fit that type of player?
