He is.

It's pretty much one of two redeeming qualities he brings to us.

He's a huge dick, and he suppresses shots apparently.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kylington is part of this deal

I don't know how accurate this is, but it says his ask is $5.85 million for 5 years: https://blackhawkup.com/2021/07/06/b...ikita-zadorov/

edit - I do not have a link, but it was a Scott Powers article in the Athletic; he or the Hawks thought $4M was more reasonable
Okay. I do not like this. I would like him to be paid as a bottom pairing defenceman. But if the price and contract is reasonable, I would be fine with this.

He's going to be a bottom pairing defenceman for us, unless Valimaki is going to Buffalo. So $5.85M would certainly be...a lot

I think you guys will like Zadorov. He is an extremely inconsistent player that has too many brainfarts at times, but is also very likeable, seems loved by teammates and is at the very least entertaining. With the inconsistency there are times that he looks like he is about to turn the corner, and for a few games he is simply unstoppable. Then he hits a wall and everything falls apart.

He is actually fantastic off the rush, his skating is really good for a guy his size. When he was with Colorado he would be one of the defenders that was able to shutdown a guy like McDavid with his size and skating. The problem is that he easily gets lost when trying to defend a cycle.

The upside to him is that he can absolutely turn a game around with a huge hit, he is one of the biggest hitters in the league and almost every hit is clean. The downside is that refs hate him, he will get plenty of calls against him simply because he is bigger than someone. One of the most consistent things you'll probably notice is that opposing players tend to know he's on the ice and they are more likely to dump it in on his side to avoid getting smoked. His outlet passes are...not good, it's like he doesn't realize he is a gigantic human being and he just rips passes that people can't handle.

Yes! Love the player. I think he’s exactly what we need and will thrive under Sutter. Nice one, BT!

He would do great on the PK and clearing out the front of our net. I think a lot of you will really like the signing! Hopefully he doesn’t cost an arm and a leg(to re-sign and acquire). He definitely provides an element we’ve been missing.
