Just because the Flames have $18 million in cap space doesn't mean they have to burn through it on UFA day like a kid with a pack of smarties.

Sign Edler if he'll come here to play top 4. Hope one of the younger D push him down with a big year.

Sign a depth vet D with some toughness for cheap.

Get a good back up that can shoulder the load if Markstrom gets hurt.

Get a depth forward with some toughness and a motor that doesn't quit.

Bring back all the RFA's

I'd be fine going into the rest of the off season with $8-10 million in cap space to keep the options open if something comes up.
