Does anyone know who Hyman played with mostly in Toronto? Just curious how much his numbers were impacted by playing with skilled guys or if he was the main driver of offense.

He primarily played with Matthews. He has good underlying numbers which suggest some ability to drive offence (to a degree), but he was generally riding shotgun to a star player. I can't imagine he'll be driving much offense next to mcdavid. He'll get a boatload of points I'm sure, but I don't think it will be money (or term) well spent.

Is there anything now holding up this deal if it is indeed happening?

Split between Matthews and Tavares for the most part. I looked at the last two months of the season and of the 24 points he scored only four came without Tavares or Matthews being involved.

Lol...for any other team I would say...its the fact that they physically can't sign him until tomorrow....
However...from the team that brought us the joys of....Chris Pronger leaving, Danny Heatley refusing to go there and Michael Nylander likewise refusing to go there...this could still get really funny before the end...

I mean, if Edmonton just found McDavid his Kunitz, it’ll be money well spent in the first year of the deal before McDavid demands a trade

Could another team be courting Hyman? Interesting this hasn’t been officially announced considering all the hype around it.
Sorry just seen the release my apologies….

Dreger:
It’s believed the Oilers offered Toronto two draft picks, including one in the first 5 rounds as compensation for a potential sign and trade. However, the Maple Leafs obviously declined.

He will unfortunately slot into the top 6 quite well up there.
