Well free agency hasn't officially started yet and I imagine Treliving will be on the phones all day. Just remember that the only winners of the first week of free agency are players. Almost all of the contracts given out today will end up being bought out or LTIRetirement.

Same here… was really hoping this would be the go big year and we were done with the ‘safe’ plays. Maddening team this time of year anymore and I’m just about done with Treliving if this is in fact the ‘direction’ he decides to stumble down yet again.

When it comes to UFA’s I would be happy with Ritchie and Edler as it pertains to the higher caliber ones. Outside of that I am okay with some vets but then we still need a big trade or 2

On top of that we have a lot of good youth that’s pushing, it will be really disappointing if he clogs up the opportunities again with the likes of guys like Thompson and Lewis.

Treliving swing big in the UFA market last year. What are you expecting? Chase Hamilton? Overpay Coleman?

Who's thr next Brouwer and who's the next Bouwmeester? My guess is Coleman on forward and Edler on defense. The more i look at those 2, the more I think it'll be a mistake to get them.

I’m a little bothered we weren’t in on Buchnevich, quality player with perceived contract issues. We always end up dumpster diving and end up with 2-3 forwards who likely wouldn’t crack another NHL roster or would have to through PTO. It’s also not like we have any can’t miss prospects in the pipeline to look forward to in the next year.

I was hoping a hockey trade by now had occurred and that Johnny had been extended but instead he’s waiting too long again to close the deal with Johnny which is a big part of how this team should move forward and we get to hear about the glorious role players he’s apparently going after. That includes us potentially overpaying for Coleman which would be a disaster.

Expectation is to add skill, especially with the forwards.
Flames have not addressed this area for several seasons.
