3rd round pick, no salary retention.
Petey extension soon.

Funny they have been saying on the radio all day here that Schmidt was going to veto a trade to Winnipeg.

At the very least some breathing room and give teams a pause for an offersheet.
I know he Schmidt had a bad season, at this price still a better pick up than Keith.

Schmidt is a good defenceman but just didn't fit with us stylistically.
Quinn is the PP quarterback and had most of the offensive zone deployments, I think he was unhappy with the limited role.

Sounds like he did veto it earlier. Winnipeg either convinced him or Benning said he would trade him to an undesirable team that isn't on his list. I would say Edmonton, but what are the chances he didn't have them on the list.

Dammit. I think this trade kind of works out for both sides. Schmidt didn't work out at all in Vancouver but I can see him playing better in Winnipeg and they are happy every time they get a guy under contract for a few years.
Vancouver gets some desperately needed cap relief with their two stars vulnerable.

Throwing around like second class trash
Seriously, I wouldn't mind if the Flames pick him up
As sad as it sounds, he has more offense than anyone we have

someone please bump the thread from last year when the Nucks acquired him for a 3rd and Van fans were creaming themselves over how awesome he is and what a gift of a deal it was.
FF 12 months and Dim Jim moves him out for the same 3rd pick.

I think he was unhappy being a stinkin' Canuck. Bad dressing room, crappy players, out to lunch coach, idiot GM.
Vancouver sucks and he has escaped. To Winterpeg. Yikes.

it was a steal, just like it's a steal for the Jets today.
he wasn't a fit here and acquiring another offensive defenceman in OEL made him redundant and we needed to clear cap space.
