Also rumors that the Canes are interested in Virtanen, so I guess they are trying to out do Bergevin.

On the DeAngelo signing...outside of just being a d-bag with bad political views has he actually done anything wrong in his NHL career?
To me this isn't nearly as bad as drafting MTL that kid.

Well whatever it was he had going on with the backup goalie turned into a scuffle in the hallway after a loss, so probably a major concern about being toxic. And a history of abuse of an official penalties/suspensions as well. And while no one might be too concerned about the guys in stripes, I would hate to have someone out there turning my team into a target with the refs. Lots of judgement calls get made out there, so when you loathe one teams existence, it's hard to not even subconsciously have a bias.
Honestly I felt the refs were upset about Wideman when it happened, but put it on the player. Once the Flames went after the suspension of Wideman, it started to appear like nothing really broke the flames way with calls afterwards for a while.

I mean, he fought his own teammate and has been suspended multiple times in junior (violation of the league's Harassment and Abuse/Diversity Policy), the AHL (first for conduct against Joseph Blandisi, and then for commentary against a referee) and once in the NHL (hitting an official).
It's slighty more than him being a d-bag.

I think it had more to do with him being a terrible teammate, and a distraction, which culminated in the thing with Georgiev hauling off on him. Having terrible political views is one this but being so obnoxious about it is something I would understand most teams wanting no part of.
