Yeah, the Chicago Blackhawks definitely seem upfront and honest about issues within their organization.

right shot, right winger
"arguably the most competitive player in this draft"
scores goals at will
love the pick (other than the one issue which I won't mention again for 2 years)

Besides that, really like the player at 13

Omg wow I’m in awe of how intelligent you both are.
Because I’m sure you’ll catch Bradley off guard and like totally stump him with your amazing gotcha questions because you’re both better GMs. As if the GM who drafted multiple college players has NEVER heard of the loophole and will be blindsided by your question.
He’ll be so blindsided and flustered I’m sure he’ll just blurt out that Coronato has already told his agent that he’s never signing but Bradley, being the smartest guy in the room, thinks he can convince him otherwise.
We’re all so impressed by your willingness to recognize the risk and advocate for the tough questions.

The concern around drafting another one of these type of players, esp in the 1st round is all warranted!
|
There's concern about a lot of players and where they play, where they might want to play, where their family is from, etc.
Being worried or downright negative about it when the kid was picked just minutes ago is just sad. Have some fun. It was a great pick. Enjoy it for a few years first.

There’s being optimistic and there is sticking your head in the sand. It’s an awfully fair concern to bring up and no way should that be out of bounds. Some folks need a thicker skin.
|
I think some people are just worried, the Fox situation was disappointing but that no way means it will happen again. As some have pointed out the Flames likely had some discussions with the player beforehand. We can't be surprised that some are still concerned but still very much like the player. Flames do need a pure goal scorer.

Nice tantrum but it’s still a legitimate concern
We’ve had a first round pick refuse to sign with us and we’ve had a Harvard player refuse to sign with us

So everything considered, is this pick a slam dunk or a bust? There's been almost 45 minutes to consider this, and we have a 2022 1st rounder to start assessing.

The home team analyzing the 18 year old kids facial expressions and talking him as trade bait within an hour of him being drafted.
Any wonder why NHL players don’t want to play in Canada?
