and if he does spend 4 years there (highly likely), he will have NO incentive to sign with the Flames. As a New Yorker, it's pretty easy to guess where he might want to sign

Good haul for Dallas.

I am not so worried about the loophole. It is up to Calgary to sell him on Calgary, and to make this organization more successful overall to make players want to play here, period.

Or, you know, he could leave after 2 years and start to make millions of dollars and complete his education whenever he feels like it.

Not something we really should worry about though. You can't avoid players just because of where they play, let the cards fall where they may after. Until then, it should always be BPA.

Alright, that's it. If it's Cossa then Bob is officially a wizard.

Extremely premature I would say. Much less likely for a first round pick to bail on the team that drafted him. (I think. Just going by a very suspect memory) it’s usually later round picks that stay the full 4 years in school no?

Interesting.

The last time Yzerman picked a goalie in the first round, that worked out pretty well.

I sure hope Calgary did big time due diligence on this one and or sign him right away.

Like the pick but I hate the loophole bull#### so would have preferred to stay away from it if possible.

That's all
I’m just saying we have four years to worry about it
We don’t need to start on day 1. Plenty of time ahead for that
