Matt Phillips is from Calgary. I have no idea about his family members.

Dube's brother Jake is with Hockey Canada, though I suppose that may only be a part time gig. He does have some sort of business education according to his hockey profile.

Fully understand that some people will dismiss it, and I get that. I've been on this forum a long time. Knew an Orange Julius joke was coming, haha.

And this family member of mine has given me lots of nuggets in the past about the Flames that have proven to be accurate. People whisper, word gets around. What else are O&G people in Calgary gonna talk about

I personally believe that Coleman is calling guys in and around the team, but whether that leads to a deal... Who knows what will happen. It's fun to speculate I suppose. Just thought it was important to be upfront about where I got the info and that it's obviously unverified, even though I trust the person who gave me the info.

I have a similar second hand contact (alum, not current player) and I'm always iffy about what I say from it.

Ahead of last Thursday's NHL draft, there was a buzz around town as rumours were swirling of Treliving's strong interest in Coleman.

We caught up with Craig Conroy after the unrestricted free agency period opened yesterday to discuss. Conroy tells the Calgary Sun "Brad came to me with interest and said he'd been asking around for opinions with others familiar with Coleman. We did plenty of research and analytics and came to the conclusion that Coleman was absolutely the right choice going forward and would be a great addition. Coleman is incredibly strong, durable and the price is right."

Treliving said "Upon completion of the process, we ended up acquiring 2 Coleman camping stoves, 2 Coleman lanterns, and a 95 litre Coleman cooler."

That would be a leap of conclusions, in my opinion. There’s many other factors that would play into a decision. I assume he knows other non-current hockey people from Calgary, and, who knows what they’ll say about the city. Let alone other offers he’ll be offered.
