OEL's deal will cripple them. Canucks currently have $15M cap. Garland would need to be signed, and they need to sign Petterson and a few others (plus Boeser next year). I don't know what kind of salary AZ would retain on OEL, or take back.

Wow, it's the Duncan Keith trade v2... let's see if Benning fares any better than Holland.
At least OEL is better than Keith. But he's also signed for more money and longer, so...
Also wait how do they afford this?! I mean even if they send Roussel the other way, they still have to sign Garland, and I assume he's going to cost at least 3M so that's a wash.

Benning really is the worst. He's going to be paying Myers and Ekman-Larsson over 14 million dollars and then have to add Hughes in there too.

They weren’t going anywhere before. Now they are with a purpose.
They get rid of an albatross contract and also gain a top 10 pick, basically recuperating the stupid decisions by Chayka. What more could you want from a new GM trying to get this team in the right direction?
Sucks for the Coyotes to lose Garland but it likely has to happen to get the team to a better place long term.
