Yes I am serious.
Yes, Reinhart is a better player than Dube, straight up. However, I do not think that is a useful way to spend the cap space. If Reinhart were $4M or $4.5, then sure. But he is slow, and not a play driver.
At $6.75M, he would take the whipping boy mantle from Monahan in pretty short order, I'd guess.

To try to respond to your terrible analogy, we don't know yet what kind of a car Dube is, but we do know that he is still only priced as a Hiundai. And Reinhart isn't a Porsche, but he is priced like a Porsche.

Not really. You can mod cars to go faster and even perform close to a super car but it will never be a super car. It will always be the car it started as.
