I have absolutely nothing to base this on other than the last time I felt the same it happened too...
I think we're trading down tomorrow.
Which in a bit of a crapshoot of a draft I guess is fine, just going to make all of the theorycrafting on these picks at 12 make me a bit sad.

I think everyone should temper their expectations of any player taken in this draft. Form the scouting reports, not many people are projecting any players from this draft to be #1 centres.

So, reading Mackenzie's tweets...
He sees a clear top 9 plus the 2 goalies, and then a drop-off.
And the Flames pick 12th. Great.
Quite possible, even likely, that someone drops though.
And I never thought I'd say this, but I would be fine taking a goalie with the 1st.

Every mock or list shows Power, Beniers, Eklund, Johnson, Clarke, Edvinsson, Hughes, and Guenther in the top 8. It seems like McTavish has joined this list.
I think those guys will go 9/9 but you never know with Yzerman and Kekeleinen.
It seems Calgary will get one of the goalie, Sillinger, or Lucius.

Everyone has a preference. I just don't buy what people are selling about Sillinger. He wouldn't be a bad pick but I can't put two prospects together who are more closely matched. I have Lucius as my Preference as I see more translateable skill to the NHL. And the RHS. Something we have all been clamoring for for years.
There's no real getting "Stuck" with any of these guys in the top 14 or so really.

I'm banking on DET, L.A and SJ to go goalie. 2 of those 3 teams would take a goalie IMO. And they'd go 3 if there was another as close to each other as Cossa and Wallstedt. Don't think Benji Gaudreau is at that tier

The draft is all about hope and potential.
And it should be enjoyed for that.
We all know the relative probabilities and they don't really need to be pointed out.

Maybe because of all the rehab and leg training?
Honestly he looks like like a couple of months with Dawn Braid would really take any skating issues out.
