Yeah today was not a bad outcome really. Let’s wait a week and see what the GM does at the draft and leading up to it.
If that’s a disaster, I’ll bring the rocket fuel.

It’s a hard job, sure. Does that mean the Flames’ guy is good enough?
Maybe measure him by team performance

Exactly, he did what he had to do. People are still going to get bent outta shape though.

Tanev and Markstrom are horrors in the sense that I'm horrified about how well they might play, and their durability, during the later years of the contract. Especially Markstrom.
High AAV is one thing. But it there's anything I'm scared of, it's a 4+ year contract that bring a player to the age of 33 or beyond.
I'm basically describing most major free agency contracts.

The “Brad sounded nervous” take is the same from when Sutter was hired.

It's not even an indefensible opinion. It's just tiresome to see the same thing whined about ad nauseum in every thread, relevant or not.

Treliving may be poop, but when you compare him to Francis, our poop is at least solid. Seattle’s is a runny mess that just exploded everywhere today and has a ghastly stench to it. Be thankful our poop is contained only stinks when you’re directly down wind.

For the record, I don't actually think Brad is poop, I actually like him. I was just summarizing the original referred double post.

I don’t agree.
Francis doesn’t have a bad contract, has a team with size, speed, and compete, without any floaters. This is day 1, further transactions are coming, and he is clearly not done.
Calgary only has 3 top 4 D at best right now, plus lack of depth at RW
Also, of every single team in the NHL , Calgary got worse today than any other

Calgary gained 6.75M in cap space so that remains to be seen. How is it fair to compare Francis to anyone right now anyway. Apples and oranges as usual with you.

Oh wonderful, the sun has set but I still have a shadow lol
Frankly I am comfortable saying my perspective is better than the poop consistency post to which I was responding
Obviously the time to evaluate Francis is not today when it is expected that there are further trades to be revealed tomorrow

Very little to show for his time as General Manager. Good guy and good hockey mind. But this is a results oriented business and I’ve seen very little in the way of positive results in his time in charge.
