That Defence is big and competitive. Lucic might punch a guy, maybe. Calgary best address some physical issues.

After the COL and DAL playoff debacles I would not have picked Brodie and Gio to be the first core players to go.

God did this league really need to expand? F*** Seattle.

Sorry this is just a bitter pill to swallow! lol

Yeah. I think Vegas did a better job with their start.

Dont think they'll be doormats being in the pacific but I don't think we see a contender in the first 5 seasons in Seattle.

This thread reads exactly like the Vegas thread. So I’m reserving judgement until we see the Kraken on the ice.

Not taking one serious established scoring forward was moronic! Will they break 125 goals next year?

10 seasons is a pretty hefty career, the average is 5. Eliminates a lot of players.

Yeah, even if you stretch it to a minimum of 400 games played, the retired list is Peplinski (711 GP) and Loob (450 GP). Plus, Backlund (744 GP), Monahan (591 GP), and Gaudreau (520 GP) among active players.

I would guess that the only UFA player that they really go after this year would be Danault. Maybe a 5x5. Danault wants badly to be a 1C, and in Seattle he would be that. No centres were picked that would displace him.

They need to spend $10M just to get to the floor.

They picked some RFAs I think? So probably they are at the floor

Eberle?

But yeah, I would have picked a few more.

Capfriendly is updated
https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/kraken

RFAs it is showing
F: Twarynski
D: Dunn, Borgen, Cholowski

It classified a number of picks as ‘non-roster’ though

I said this earlier but the big thing Seattle is missing is a bona-fide NHL coach. I am sceptical that Hakstol can do much of anything with this group.

I assume if they're non roster that was their status at year end with their former team.

Halston is completely unproven!

Yup, highly questionable move considering the available options.

So McCann is a good two way player that was buried behind Crosby and Malkin, he had a 60 point pace. Gourde was on a 52 point pace with very little PP time and production.

These are two very good Centers

Say they take a run at a 1C like Eichel. All of a sudden they may be really good

Yeah, that’s right. Probably barely based on those FAs.

They have the picks to do a deal, but do they have the 2 players Seattle supposedly wants?
