I seen this thread and the idea that Conor Garland could be a target...He is probably my favorite (non flame) player in the NHL.
To the poster who said he didn't think a 170 pound winger would be in the cards in Sutters eyes...you need to watch this guy play. I would trade Monahan in a heartbeat for a package that included Garland. Dvorak never really has did much for me on my viewings...
Guy (Garland) is only going to get better, Arizona would be stupid to get rid of him.

What's worse, he's a perimeter player and does most of his best work behind the goal line or off the half wall. He's a good passer, but you need a finisher with him, which we sorely lack. He's a bubble third or second line player. A really good third line player, or a mediocre second line player. Interestingly, Dube is kind of in that same role. Shows he's a good third liner, but has the talent to be on the second line. What's holding him back is the experience and opportunity. Give him those three years that Garland has on him, and Dube is a better player. As it is, Dube can play multiple roles that Garland can't. The only advantage I see is Garland is a right shot. I'll keep Dube over Garland.

I dont think you have watched even a minute of his play.

See this at least makes a little more sense
Don't know if it would make me happy. But it's closer to making sense .

Brad better be first in line is there is a deal to be had. Esp if Sean is the "centerpiece".

I would do Monahan for Garland. Heck, I’d do Monahan for Dvorak so I would never have to watch the Gaudreau Monahan combo again

I live in Phoenix. I watch the Cryotes all the time because of the freaking blackouts they enforce and I get a lot of tickets thrown my way. I know this team and its players quite well thank you.

Why trade for Dvorak when Danault is available. If you're looking at 2-way 2C type players.

Dvorak has way more offence than Danault.

How so?
Danault is a .51ppg player in 392 NHL games.
Dvorak is a .48ppg player in 302 NHL games.
Not saying I'd rather Danault over Dvorak, just dont understand how Dvorak has "way more offense".

Right.
Last two seasons:
Danault: 124gp 71pts
Dvorak: 126gp 69pts
More like, virually the same output.
Danault did just help his team go to the finals though, with an outstanding defensive C performance.

Count the goals. Never less than 15 in his career. Danault has a high of 13.

Him being a better goal scorer is way different than claiming he's got "way better offense"

Well, sure it is, since assists are quite varied. That’s why people talk about primary and secondary assists. Just watch them play if you want to see which guy has more offensive skill. And if you want more, look at their junior careers (Dvorak being a few years closer to his as well).
