Pretty obvious choice over Zucker imo.

Surprised Seattle is bailing the Pens out of that six-year deal.

4 years left

Last time a Tanev changed teams, the receiving team seemed to like the player all right

Sure but now Tanev is about to turn 30 and has still never scored 30 points in a season. Feels to me like Seattle is bailing the Penguins out of the worst part of that contract.

Keep in mind the Pens might be paying Seattle to take Tanev, like they paid Vegas to take Fleury.

Does that get disclosed officially at the Expansion Draft event? Or just leaked out?

They should be announced at the expansion draft show.

Tanev just wasn’t good in the handful of games I watched him. I’m not a fan of flavour of the month, Zucker, but unless Tanev is your sixth dman, he just isn’t a player I’d push for. Weird selection.

Tanev is a winger

From the release of the protected lists thread

There is a chance he might break down the way he plays but he is only in year 5 as a NHL player

He would force the Flames to play at a higher tempo
I guess I am more aligned with Kraken management team than the various talking heads and media "experts" and the CP mob.

He could be a captain on the Kraken. I wonder if Gio will tell him to cool the aggressive play.

Both of the Tanevs are great team players and make their teammates better players.

He was leaving the defense zone early for a defenseman.

Ever wonder why you don't get to post more self congratulatory "see, I was right" posts?

Another surprising pick. Not sure what Francis has up his sleeve, but he's helping more teams than hurting them so far.

He is assembling a team he thinks can compete all while saving cap space to make deals in a couple days that may improve them.

I think that was the idea from the get-go and not worry about helping out (or not) other clubs.

Seems like you follow me a fair bit and have time on your hands. You could put together a list.

B.Tanev has a tough contract, but he is a player I would love on the Flames. He just plays balls to the walls all day and can ad the odd goal here and there.
