Default Rory Kerins gets invite to Hockey Canada National Junior Team development camp

Means he is on the radar for the WJC team.

Besides Kerins, Poirier is the only Flames prospect that could play for Canada and eligible for the WJC but he did not get an invite

So Ryan Francis is a little bit too old?
Gotta think he would've been called as well.

Kerins got a cup of coffee with the Heat last season during the OHL shutdown. Played very sparingly in four games.

Nevertheless, this is an earned distinction for a player who scored 30 goals in his draft year.

Francis turns 20 on Dec 2, he will be too old for the Tournament.

Yes, Francis (like Zary and Pelletier) is an '01 birthday and ineligible. He's eligible to play for the Heat this year, though, but not sure if he will.

Nothing but a good thing when a 6th rounder from 9 months ago becomes a "possibility" on the world junior team.

Keep raking in those 4-7th rounders that could play!

I liked Kerins as a sleeper pick, but I was very bummed that he didnt go play overseas like others last season. He pretty much lost a whole year of development- for a sleeper pick that's not great.

Hope he continues on a bright trajectory!
