It would be awesome, but I don’t think you could fly there from Calgary. There’s a “no jets” rule for scheduled airlines at Billy Bishop. And I’m thinking YYC to Billy Bishop might not work on a turboprop.

Even if jets were allowed at YTZ, I highly doubt that a 4000ft runway is anywhere near enough for an E195-E2.
London City is like 4500ft and pretty sure they fly those planes out of there. I think they can do A220s too.
Closer to 5000ft.
They can fly the A220-100 out of there, but not the -300. E190-E2 are there but not the 195-E2, though both the A220-300 and the E195-E2 may be less due to runway length but possibly steep approach requirements. With some of the longer routes out of LCY, they have payload restrictions.
The A220-100 is actually a slightly smaller jet than E195-E2, but on paper seems to be better on performance.
So it could be possible for an E195-E2 to operate out of YTZ (should they ever decide to allow jets at YTZ), will it make any business sense to considering the possible payload restrictions?

Can confirm - flew a Swiss A220 to Zurich out of there in 2019. Everything else was E190s, or turboprops except for a lone A318 that was awaiting the flight to New York.

We've been getting a very unique visitor to YYC over the last few days. French Bee A350 operating Paris-Orly to Papeete, making refueling stops here instead of YVR due to a fuel pipe issue they are having there. Some video of one of the arrivals:

Would that be the first A350 that has landed at YYC, or were there ones before?
It appears that Alaska Airlines just terminated their YYC - SEA route.
They're still selling it starting in January. They've been bumping back the re-start continually. I think they'll eventually start again, but they don't want to do it until Canadians start really travelling again.
Just picked up a passenger from YYC and it was weird. I havent been to the airport since Jan/20. I didnt know you cant actually get into the building without a boarding pass. Seemed very quiet from what I saw

What? I’ve never seen or heard of that. Did you have someone stop you and check your boarding pass as you were entering the terminal? If so, that is very new and very unusual.
My son's baseball team was just starting the bottom of the first inning on Saturday at the Bow River fields when the 2 CF-18s flew right over home to left field. It was pretty awesome for them. A little while later I saw the A350 and got excited, the kids were not excited.

It’s not new or unusual. It’s been like that for quite some time.
I flew out last week, didn't need a boarding pass till I entered security.
A lot of people don't get boarding passes till they check in, doesn't make sense you would need one to enter the building.
It means only people taking flights are to enter the airport. People meeting/picking people up are supposed to wait outside. They’re not likely heavily enforcing it now though.

They did SNA up until the pandemic started from what I remember. We were down there in August 2019 and were going to fly home out of SNA but switched to SAN last minute.
Directly pre-pandemic they were only flying SNA to YVR.
I went there in January and ended up taking Alaska via SEA as the connection was way better.
I think I'm going to send a westjet exec a linked in message everytime I book SNA on another airline.
It might need a little push (as most people think LAX) but its so much better. Shorter waits, less traffic, and closer to Disney.
