Such an old man shakes fist at cloud comment. You're talking about the most popular game on earth, and it's quite arguable that parents letting their 7 year olds play a game based on killing are the ones in the wrong here, not the adult doing what he wants in his spare time.

Further, Torts and Sutter aren't actually similar coaches. I think Laine would have a real chance of pulling through successfully here under sutter. Imagine if Sutter could mold Laine into an Iginla like player?

Isn’t gaming pretty ingrained in the culture of the Flames organization? I think I read the current team is big in it and even Iggy and Conroy were spending a lot of time on it too back in the day.

Yeah. Iginla, Conroy and Regehr became good friends by playing Age of Empires 1 and 2 against each other.

The Calgary Flames have continued to take calls on Matthew Tkachuk, but multiple sources have told me the asking price is astronomical.

…am I missing anyone else? I feel like you just don’t see smoke at this stage of a guy’s career if he’s destined to stay long term.

Pretty big difference in going to museums vs being addicted to video games (if his playing time is as bad as rumored).
The latter really effects sleep and other cognitive functions, pretty vital for being an elite athlete.

What this shows me is the Flames truly are open for business. I believe in any past deadline or offseason if Tkachuk’s name is brought up the phone call ended immediately. I think now when teams bring Tkachuk up the Flames are responding with jaw dropping prices but are now in the spot where these discussions can happen.

Pagnotta had the flames trading Johnny and getting Hall’s rights last offseason so not always right but he is plugged in.

There is a big difference between playing video games and being addicted to video games.

Being addicted will mess with your sleeping time, proper eating habits, work out routines, etc.
