Strikes me as a dumb term from Larsson's perspective. This deal will expire a few months before he turns 33, meaning this is likely is last "big pay day". Just an odd term for him, as I would have thought getting that 5th or 6th year could have been attainable (...especially from the Oilers).

Term and dollar value actually aren't that bad, but if Spector is trying to equate Larsson to Tanev in terms of quality and role, and that this deal, if it happens, would constitute some kind of home-town discount by comparison, then I'm not buying that at all.

Well, in fairness he hasnt exactly been covering himself in Glory for the last few years. There may genuinely not be much else out there for him.
$16M is $16M and at 33 he'll still be a young man who can explore his future and his dreams as far away from Edmonton as humanly possible.
Perhaps pen his memoirs entitled: "One for One: The Adam Larsson Saga"

I'd take Larsson at that price. Hell, I think I'd take him at close to Tanev's deal.
No idea why Larsson does this deal. Unless it's crazy term.
