One place I worked at years ago we got a "bonus" vacation day for our birthday which we could take any day that week. Other than the three years I worked there, I have never done it. But then again, I just don't care about my birthday. I wish no one would recognize it or give me presents.

Why is that Frank? Is it because you feel you're getting older?

I have to admit, I kinda get depressed around my bday. Makes me realize I'm another year older and closer to not accomplishing my goals lol. Since bday's are kind of a downer, I decided to make it a little better by taking the day off and doing the things I want to do.

My B-day is right after the new years break, so it seems like a bit of a waste. Also buddies will have gone crazy for new years, so no one wants to go get all hammered up with you.
 |
Mail order kick in the nuts eh? That's the kind of gift that keeps on giving.

Not sure why. I've always been like that. I guess I just don't like people making a fuss over me. Even though I'll be 37 this summer, I still "feel" young. Its all just a matter of perception for me. Its just never been a big deal for me.

The day after your birthday should be a holiday - to nurse that hangover.

I really think anyone who is not in a required service (unless it can be done so with out a disruption of service) should be given their birthday off. It just seems like the right thing to do.

Hey speaking of which, which businesses/restaurants still give you free stuff on your birthdays? Like Denny's before you got a free meal. I don't think they have that anymore.

Doesn't pho kim give you free bean sprouts on your bday?

On a serious note, I think I remember some ice cream place giving you half off on your bday.

So how many of you do this as well? I think if there's any day you should have as a Vacation, it would be your birthday.

Hey we have the same birthday!

I know as recently as two years ago you could get a "free" meal at MT Tuckers.

And the bartender we always use at the Dome gave me a free beer this year! |

Weird. I just noticed something cool. Since you, me, and her have been involved with the movie industry, I've come to the conclusion that April 9 people are artistic or have artistic personalities.

April 9th people are crazy Aries. Let's face it, Aries people need to be front and center, and what's a better industry to be front and center....

What have you done in the movie industry TCMB? I had no idea...

I think you April 9 babies also have the same birthday as Rowdy Roddy Piper. Mine's the day after. I took it off last year because it was on a Monday, and made a long weekend, but I won't this year.
Also a good idea to take off April 9 this year because April 6 is Good Friday, so you'd get a four-day weekend.

I was a part of the production crew for Out of Nowhere and Angel Flight Down, two MOWs. I was also involved as cam assistant in a music video for some country band whose name escapes me at the moment.

I had an opportunities to go to Vancouver and be a part of the X-files crew, but at the end opted out. It was kinda stupid, I got pissed at Iatse local 669 for some stupid thing, so the x-files thing kinda fell apart. I don't even remember what the conflict was about lol.

I eventually got disillusioned and dropped out of the movie industry. kinda sucks cause my dream was to become a writer/director. I blame spielberg lol.

Hahahaha....Very cool. It's easy to get disillusioned in the industry. One minute its great, the next...not so much.

Hey you can still do it....I can only imagine how many people have made videos or movies on their own, thrown it up on YouTube and voila, career.

I still do on the side. Nothing big, just small projects. I even started a wedding videography business for awhile to get my creative juices flowing lol. I enjoyed it, but not enough to take abuse from pushy customers lol. So my partner and I called it quits.

What about you Ryan? Would you ever consider acting again?
