It looks like Microsoft has a plan for everyone's old xbox one's....hook it up to a second tv and use it to stream next gen games. Sounds like they will try and utilize some of the hardware to make it more stable/responsive.

FWIW Xbox Cloud Gaming was a game changer when my 1080ti died and I had to use the Basic Display Adapter in Windows until the RMA was approved. My buddies and I use Discord when we're playing and we were playing Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 a lot at the time. Instead of having to switch over to Xbox party chat since Discord is only a first-class experience on PC, I just used XCG to cross-play with them. It worked really well for that use-case. If you're playing twitch shooters online, then all bets are off (I don't).

Yeah when I play crossplay COD the in game chat is trash and I play with PS players so I used remote play on PC to connect to the PS party for chat. Works good except it will eventually time me out since i'm not active on the PS. I'm really looking forward to Discord being integrated into Playstation. I really wish we could all get along and discord could be integrated into all consoles it would make life so much easier.

So if one wants to buy a Series X now, what's the best way to go about it? I thought they were easier to come by than PS5's, but they're still out of stock everywhere I look

Probably just bad timing right now.

Typically when they show up at either best buy, microsoft, or amazon the Series X will last a couple hours.

I would say just follow @lbabinz on twitter and have notifications on. When somewhere gets stock he will tweet it out.

Also it's not 100% accurate but according to this https://stocktrack.ca/?s=wm&upc=88984264072 Mckenzie Wal-Mart has 2, so worth a shot if you're close.

I've actually thought about that, it's becoming worrying that it seems like the industry is content to re-release games instead of coming up with new IPs.

Then again, consumers are rewarding it by buying the damn games, so I guess I can't fault them for it.

Well you have a large segment of gamers like myself that never buy games on release and wait for sales, so it only makes sense to buy the remaster or directors cut when those come out if you've never played the original

I've bought GTA V thrice, so eh, I'm including myself in that.

I'm hoping we get an update on the release date for the new turtle beach flight controls for the series x.

I've seen the previews and yes it looks gorgeous but is there substance to these games? Is it just missions of flying planes to destinations? I feel like it would be fun for a few flights but would get boring after that.

I've been addicted to flight sims since the 90's and find the new one to be terrible, I'm definitely unsure of the appeal of a console port

That's pretty interesting. I assume you dislike Star Wars: Squadrons and absolutely love Star Wars: Tie Fighter? as well...all these new games just aren't meeting your expectations.

91 on metacritic and 7.2 by users, generally agreed that it is the best installment of the game since early 90's if not better.

If you have never had an interest or love for flying, I assume the game could become quite boring fairly quickly. But if you are plane nut and love to see how the different planes feel and fly then it's awesome.

Personal preference really.

It's appealing to a more casual audience, most flight sim players already went back to x-plane and DCS.

Of course, a more casual audience means a wider audience, so higher rating makes sense.

Not sure about any Star Wars reference you're trying to make, I'm not really into sci-fi

This is always kind of funny to me. 7.2 user score, "generally agreed it's the best," but you look at the scoring and a full 1/3rd of people didn't like it.

More so just the fact that it's not interesting or unique to dislike a game that rates well or vice versa. That seems fairly common.

Tastes in video games probably vary more wildly than in any other media. People want entirely different things out of their gaming experience, and wildly different types of games are accepted as valid.

I don't really care about Doom Eternal, but if it were a movie it'd probably be looked at like a Michael Bay blockbuster and sneered at. But in video games it's just a "whatever floats your boat" sort of thing.
