Well they paid for experience and leadership. That's the only explanation. Can't believe the actual deal from a week ago was the deal that was made today.

It is absolutely true — the pick involved in the condition is Edmonton's own 2022 2nd. So it's locked into place and cannot move. It must be available to transfer to CHI, if necessary.
EDM is now prohibited from using their own 2nd to add at this year's deadline, all because of a condition that is practically guaranteed to not be fulfilled.

The condition is actually bad because it stops Holland from throwing that thing away at the deadline for whatever Detroit rental is on the market
