Yes, Oilers had 3 home wins in 2017 and one in 2020.

Propaganda minister Stauffer pushing the narrative where Oilers deal Jones and a prospect for Keith. Not sure who your source is Stang, but the guy on the payroll seems to think this is a great deal for the Oil.

Jones and a prospect?
Are they in a bidding war with themselves or something?

Lol that’s how they roll.
“Hey Connor what do you want to be paid”?
“How about 10 million”.
“Sure. Let’s make that $12.5”?

Maybe I was more wishful thinking. Keith for Jones + would be brutal.

Now that the Edmonton sports media is trying to put a positive spin on this (as instructed by Katz), I can only assume the deal is done and they are waiting for the Stanley Cup final to conclude prior to announcing the deal.

I was chatting with an Oilers buddy this weekend and he is convinced it is Jones+3rd+Neal for Keith. I told him it would take more than a third to move Neal and the delusion was strong

That makes no sense to me from Chicago's perspective.
Edmonton realizes that James Neal is worthless right? And expensive.
They waived him last season and got zero takers. I get that they want to move his salary, but Chicago is shedding salary, not likely interested in taking much back.

Make sense to me for Chicago. Keith’s buyout is like Lucics. Not worth it. If they wanted to make a run at Seth Jones, you buyout Neal for space, and then dangle playing with his brother to Seth.
No way they are getting rid of Keith without taking salary back.

This would be hilariously on brand for the Oilers and I hope it happens.
Step 1:
Trade Lucic +3rd +750 000 retained for James Neal.
-Hey guys, we easily won the trade because James Neal is better at hockey (he was not)
-Hey guys, we easily won the trade because Lucic needs to be protected in expansion (he did not)
-Hey guys, we easily won the trade because Neal can be bought out more easily (they did not)
Step 2:
Just chip off a few more assets to get what you had in the first place, an aging overpriced vet with championship pedigree that can't be bought out. With every spin on the merry-go-round, a few bucks fly out of their pocket for a smattering of carnies and onlookers to pick up.

They all know the deal is going to be one for one. The three of them are going to play Russian roulette with two bullets in the revolver. The one who survives goes to Chicago for Keith; the other two at least get out of Edmonton.
Who wouldn't be pumped?

Morbid, but so is Keith wanting to go to Edmonton.

That isn't inconceivable if you swap Koskinen for Neal (and include Subban/Delia going back the other way).

Which is why the rest of McDavids tenure or however long until he gets sick of the team (maybe already) is their only shot at doing anything.
It's all downhill from there, without a continued supply of first overalls. Mediocre to rubbish talent coming down the pipeline for them. Already abysmal depth on the team.
A 40 year goaltender is all that is propping things up in the crease. Just scream sustainable.
On a one way train to mediocreville and Connor wants off it.
