I wonder if Forsberg isn’t on his way out as Nashville moves towards some kind of rebuild/re-tool? He was rumoured to be involved in trade talks before Nashville’s season took an uptick.
Arvidsson had a similar season stats wise to Monahan 50 games each 10 goals each Monahan 28 pts -- 9 on the PP Arvidsson 25 pts 3 on the pp.
Arvidsson 3 x 4.25 Monahan 2 x 6.375
Nashville made the playoff as a Bubble Team (64 pts) and make a pure rebuilding move leaving 22M in cap space to sign Sarros and ?
What would be the return be for Monahan?
Monahan has outperformed Arvidsson over their careers and plays a more coveted position so it would be greater but I also don’t think the flames look at it as a pure cap dump and would rather make a hockey deal. LA just gave the Preds nice flexibility with this move

I think Jarnkrok is cousins with Lindholm.
I'm pretty sure Lindholm would be happy with Jarnkrok, Forsberg and Markstrom on the team (plus the other Swedes).
Forsberg, Jarnkrok, and Fabbro/Harpur for Gaudreau and Hanifin? Leaves the Flames a little room to go after a PP QB in someone like Barrie and solidify the lineup more.

Ya, that would be fun watching Johnny destroy us every time we played Nashville. It boggles my mind why Flames fans still want to run our best offensive player out of town. Like do they get an 8x10 autographed photo of Eric Francis for it?

The only way you trade Gaudreau is if he is not going to sign an extension. The Flames should know that by now, or have a pretty good idea of what it is going to take. If they can't get his autograph on a new contract, Forsberg would be a good target to go after to replace him.
The Preds are in an interesting spot. They seem like they are declining and they have been a good but not great team for a long time. But I don't know if Poile would stick around for a rebuild
The Preds were compelled to make a move without taking on a contract due to the expansion draft. They were going to lose a good player for nothing and not too many teams want to gain contracts that need to be protected.
