Really the margin between the best teams and the middle teams isn't that far apart. Each roster in the league consist of the best players in the world. The significant majority of them are of the same caliber skill wise. It primarily comes down to who's got better coaching, structure, confidence, drive, and luck.

It's why the Flames philosophy of 'just get in' has some merit. It's unlikely you'll do much as a low seed, but it's also likely you may not go far as a high seed. Flames experienced both ends recently.

Annoyed that a Canadian based team is in the finals and it isn't the Flames, but still better than an "expansion" team being in the finals for the 2nd time in 4 years.

Me too. I nearly had a heart attack the last two minutes of that series winning game.

I remember like it was yesterday. Sharks lost the face off in our end and we scored an EN goal with no time on the clock.

Just read on Twitter they aren't allowed to leave until the crowd disperses outside. They could be there all night lol

Watching that kind of joy in the streets takes me back to 2004. Although it didn't go the right way that was such a fun run. Happy for those fans and players.

It’s hard to believe. Full credit to Montreal, a team that hasn’t been afraid to make changes on the fly. They’re not building a dynasty but I’m awfully jealous of their fans right now.

That's stupid if true. They got like a 100,000 people outside not socially distancing at all. Any worries of covid spread has long gone past the point of return if it has any merit.

All the talking heads right now trying to rewrite history about how the Habs always looked like they had potential in the reg season.

The Flames played better in both games and hit multiple posts in the 2 games they lost to the Habs April 16 and 26. A great save by Allen and some fluke bounces for Taffoli gave them the 1 goal wins in those games. Those go the other way and they were finishing behind the Flames. They had 4 wins in their previous 14 games before that April 26 W vs the Flames.

Yea, it seems a bit too early for them to allow huge crowds to gather like that. I saw that and immediately thought "good luck with your 4th wave of covid, Montreal!"

Don't think having to stay in the building is covid related. Sounded like they were concerned about the size of the crowd outside, maybe afraid to open all the doors? Lol no idea

Lived for a couple months in the summer at Tour des Canadiens (condos above Center Bell) 4 or 5 years ago (temp housing before moving to US).
Would love to be sitting on that balcony above entrance tonight, instead of in that crowd. Lol.
Montreal is my all time favorite city. Good on them.

no one wants to go into that superspreader event that's happening on the outside.

If the crap officiating continues and MTL loses we're getting a riot.
