Game 3 will show whether this series is going long. If it looks like Game 3 of Vegas / Colorado, in which Vegas basically said "okay we've got you guys figured out now", it's done in 5. If it looks like this game, 6 or 7.

This one had a real chance to go the other way in the second period, with Pacioretty hitting the post on a breakaway and that weird royal road save off Price's pants that 9 times out of 10 ends up in the net. But it didn't. So I suspect game 3 is going to be the most important game of the series unless it goes 7.

^ i was thinking on that pants save that the ghosts of the fourm have ignored the travel ban and went down to vegas as they want to see the franchise win a trophy it has never won.

Price goes God mode. The Rest of the team paid the Iron price to make sure It wasn't all for not.

Vegas still looks really good. Stone is a killer. I wish we has ponied up the price to acquire him a few year ago. Suzuki looks way better at this point than Valimaki.

Very entertaining game. Watching the coaches both almost pop a blood vessel yelling is a sight to behold.

I hope this series goes 7 and not 5.
So you would have been fine spending that price for a rental? Stone was never going to re-sign here, he made it abundantly clear that Vegas was the only team he would talk contract extension with

This game maybe, even though Vegas lack of luck helped them greatly.

Game one was not close.

You still get the sense that Vegas can flex and muscle Montreal's hand to the table at any moment.

I’m getting a little nervous. The Knights better not screw up for the 2nd year in a row and allow a Cinderella team into the final.

I would like to see the Habs win. Never really considered them a rival and would be nice for the cup to return to Canada

Too young to remember '86?

Quebec wants to declare itself it's own nation and Trudeau is fine with it. Not sure the cup would be coming to Canada, per se.

is there going to be a parade in each major Canadian city, so that we can be part of the big celebration? any rally where the team comes to Calgary and shares its success with fellow Canadians? if not, then the cup is not "returning" to Canada.

Yeah spare me that "return the cup to Canada" crap. If the Flames are not hoisting the cup it can stay in the USA.

I'm just cheering against Vegas because those fans don't deserve it.

They haven't put in the suffering...I'd also say none of these fanbases "deserve" it.

Montreal has enough cups, ditto with the Islanders, frig the Lightning, and Vegas is about 3 minutes old...I think the least gross option is the Islanders.

I'm cheering for Vegas or Tampa Bay. Those two organizations are doing things the right way and I'm a firm believer in being rewarded for doing things the right way. All that Cinderella stuff does is give fuel to ownership groups like the Flames and their mindset that mediocrity can be rewarded for getting hot at the right time.

Ouch! Agree 100%.

There is only one Canadian team I ever want to see hoist the cup.

I'd be ok with Ottawa or Quebec winning the Cup. Would be indifferent to Winnipeg. Toronto and Vancouver would be gross. Edmonton and Montreal are the darkest timelines.

I don't want to see any other team from Canada but the Flames in the finals, but I also hate Vegas so godamn much I can't stand it.

####ing near dynasty expansion team. Gimme a break.

Hopefully whoever comes out of the east wins the cup.

I personally would be fine with Ottawa or Montreal winning the Cup.

In Toronto the media would talk about it for 50 insufferable years.

Winnipeg is a Western Conference rival so frigg that.

Edmonton and Vancouver are pretty clear cut.

For who remains, I will cheer against Vegas and TB no matter what.
