Well. I do remember when Vladdy hit an offspeed pitch off Chapman for a HR in 2019. So there's hope!
Or was that Britton?

Up 5-2, lose 6-5.
So many frustrating losses this season.

I wonder if they're starting to feel the absence of a true home crowd

They mentioned 16 losses by the bull pen this year. A very quick glance suggests 11 in the last 5 weeks or so. That's 2 a week(!) A normal season you probably cut that in half. That's 5 or 6 wins right there. That's just incredible.

My post was made in jest. I would have thought the next line of the post made it obvious....

Man. I've said it before in here. But there's just something about being a Jays and a Flames fan over the last 3 decades. We just can't have nice things. This team is a bloody gorgeous Lamborghini that catches fire after driving it 3 blocks.
I daydream about what it would be like to be from Boston. Or Tampa Bay...

Re: my comment about Grichuk.
I just feel he is the Lance Bouma or Joe Colborne of the Jays. When he is cold, he is terrible. Watch him at the plate. He has no plan other then swing. And he swings at a lot of terrible pitches. He just isn’t a good player in my view

Randal is consistent. 20+ home runs, .300 on base and average defense for a CF, and with about 2 WAR by the end of the season, perfectly adequate. Honestly when Springer comes in he will be bumped down to 6th in the order which is pretty ideal for a guy like him.

It’s what we’ve got while Springer is healing.
Maybe this is the year we can sell high on him... I’m not sure what others think of that.

Yes, over the coarse of the season, he will put up perfectly adequate stats. But his problem is that he isn't money. As someone said, he has no plan at the plate, just goes up swinging. So in key at bats, he doesn't see strikes and he waives at balls. He is an easy out in crucial at bats.
Good fielder, great 4th fielder.
But should be lower in the lineup. A guy like Biggio is more situationally aware.

I'm a pretty big critic of Montoyo. But I absolutely loved his post games comments last night. Fiery passion and throws a little shade a Shatkins too. Keep that up and I might like the guy a little. Not that my opinion really matters though lol.

Semien steps up and gives Stripling a fresh start, just like that.

That's some Yankee privilege right there. Those balls were not strikes and Cole is pouting like a bitch.

I gotta say how impressed I am about Stripling's turnaround. He looked done a few games ago and now looks like an elite pitcher.

Early in the season, the bullpen was unhittable, but we had no starting pitching.
Then Ray and Stripling go God mode and Manoah fills out the rotation, then suddenly the bullpen can't buy an out.
