I mean I've obviously delivered the kiss of death to Novak lol. But yeah last time he beat Nadal here he didn't cash so we'll see. But assuming he finishes on Sunday I would think that's the end of the GOAT debate. After that 0-5 start Novak won 22 of the final 34 games against the Claymeister, and it wasn't like Rafa was playing poorly, Novak just beat him with a terrific gameplan to attack the backhand and use that forehand when it was there.

I did not see this match ending so quickly. What a performance by Djoker.

and with that, the most difficult part of the potential calendar slam is past him. but you just know at the US Open on championship point, he's going to accidentally smack an official in the nuts with the ball and get defaulted.

Novak could equal Roger and Rafa for career Grand Slams this year. Surpass them next year.

I mean the reason it's a lock for Novak to get the record is his ridiculous fitness level. Rafa was clearly gassed by the fourth set while Novak, as he usually does, appeared to be getting stronger. Dude is an all-time freak at any sport for fitness and conditioning, just a marvel to watch.

Well good match by Novak he played lights out. Rafa had his chances just couldn't convert set point and didn't have a great time breaker. Nothing lasts forever.
Hopefully the final is good, now I'm off to cry into a drink.

Poor Thiem, the one year someone takes out Nadal he completely loses his game on clay.

Felix advances to the final in Stuttgart with a win over Sam Querrey earlier today. His opponent in the final is Marin Cilic.

I'm glad to see Felix find his game on grass. It's a surface alot of young players struggle on, hopefully this gives him a confidence boost heading into Wimbledon.

Let's see if he can actually win a set in an ATP final (baby steps). I watched quite a bit of the Cilic- Shapo match and Marin was looking pretty good so it's not going to be easy.

Not so fast, two match points saved, this might be a classic

Maybe because of the close call on the line. But she fairly stoic to begin with.

It's kinda embarrassing they still can't figure out how to use Hawkeye on clay. Whether or not Hawkeye is perfect in it's call isn't important, it's that the players at this point trust it far more than the ump picking out the right mark. It almost cost Krejcikova in the semis. There's already enough reasons to hate clay, this is an easy one to rectify.

It's not accurate enough yet. Especially when you have visual evidence the player will always go with the mark in front of their eyes unless you can show hawkeye on clay is perfect.
That graphic on TV in the semifinal, we don't know if that's correct.

I know it's not perfect, it's also not perfect on the other surfaces either. It just has a much larger margin for error, but why they can't get that figured out is beyond me. I suspect they just don't want to put the effort in when you can just use the mark, marks are impossible to use on the other surfaces so Hawkeye is essential.
