Will have to wait for Canadian pricing, if it's actually relativity cheap then it's not too bad. If it ends up being $35k+ once you have decent options then that's crap

Spoiler!

Prices start at $25,900 CAD. They are taking ~$1700 more in Canada after exchange. I believe the Ranger starts around $34k

You'd be the dude with an El Camino, you wouldn't be single for long.

Neat little truck. Boxes go empty 99.9% of the time it seems. For carrying bikes, a padded tailgate cover or even a hitch-mounted rack will get the job done. I'd rather have the extra seats inside tbh. I get what you guys are saying about wanting a longer box, but this is a better package. I've had single cab, extended cab and crew cab trucks. Single cabs totally suck, extended cabs can be great, but crew cab is the best compromise of all. Particularly because you can just fold the back seats up and have a ton of interior cargo room. IDK, I really like this truck (not for me, but it is cool for a small business that needs a little truck for running around). Also, I wonder if they'll have one of those flip out bed extenders to give you another 20 or so inches.

I had a B1500 years ago and it was a great little truck that did just about everything a city dwelling truck owner should need it for. Why are we so obessed with these huge trucks that go empty 98% of the time. For that one load of gravel every 5 years just pay for the delivery.

After spending a year in Germany I really wonder how come we deem it essential to have these mammoth vehicles when everyone over there seems to manage just fine. Never mind 1/2 tons, I rarely even saw a 1/4 ton.

And yes this is coming from a guy who uses an Avalanche as a daily

I flipped a 75 GMC Sprint a couple years ago. unfortunately too rusty to be worth restoring but it was a nice car/truck. When you consider the full frame, small block, and comfortable drive it would be a nice option if you just want to be able to haul your bike somewhere or be able to pick up an appliances and bigger items occasionally.

After watching a longer video on this truck, I really like it. Tons of storage space and lots of neat options for the bed. Also it’s 6’ when down…. This might be my next truck (when there is a 3 year old used one available).

New VW minivan that we won't be getting. I think it looks quite nice.

Looks like a cool little van but I can understand why they don't bring it here. North American females clearly have a stigma when it comes to minivans and I'm not sure there's enough hipsters out there willing to pony up $30k or whatever for these.

Ford makes another truck that isn't what I want. 4.5 ft bed! Come on, guys...

It's ~200 inches, 10" shorter than the new Ranger, and ~30" shorter than the F150. The old Ranger with extended cab and 6 foot box was 203.6". That's what I want, not an SUV with the back cover removed.

I love the looks, but it’s more like an El Camino from a functionality perspective. Great for trips to the garden center, not sure what else.

Edit: I’m referring to the bed usability. Would be a nice daily driver at that size.

?
Most Caminos have a box that’s bigger than most modern trucks. With a 650-1000# payload and towing capacity well over a few thousand pounds, they’re a hell of a lot more useful than that. I see an awful lot of mostly empty beds running around town, I can’t imagine all those people are frequently carrying thousand as of pounds and towing a massive trailer.

The VW microbus ID Buzz electric thing is cool as hell but won't show up for at least another couple years.

I think the size of the box being too small is way overblown on CalgaryPuck compared to the real world. I use a truck daily for work in the Foothills Industrial Park and so do a bazillion guys I work with. Not everyone is carrying 4x8 sheets of plywood around. So many trucks are used for throwing dirty/heavy/weird/smelly/greasy/whatever items in that aren't long. I have a hitch-mounted bed extender that was $150 from Princess Auto I use on my F-150 (5'6" bed) that allows me to carry poles and stuff like 10' long. I would not want a 10' bed; the 5'6" bed is way better 99.99999% of the time. The bed on the Maverick is totally fine and if you need a longer bed there are already cheap gizmos on the market that will accommodate you.

This truck is going to become ubiquitous for small businesses and large companies for deliveries, etc. The fuel economy is unbelievable for a truck and the box is all the space you need. Its usefulness goes way beyond trips to the garden centre.

I wonder what the catalyst is for in the exhaust. Take some of the rasp out?

The only thing I can think of is Hammond's motorhome.

Spoiler!

Love the look of the truck, though, despite the wheels being too big.
