White Sox pulling a Jays™ in 8/9th, but don't count your eggs yet - Only the Jays can out-Jay™ their opponents.

Everybody: the bullpen did NOT implode in the 9th. I repeat, did NOT implode.
Awesome win, much needed. Thanks for the errors Sox!

Awesome win by the Jays and a really great performance by the pitching staff top to bottom. After some of the tough losses this team has endured over the last few weeks they were due for a bit of luck. Ryu on the mound tomorrow!

Pretty great to see Chatwood and Mayza put up some really good innings in fairly high leverage spots.

Simeon Woods Richardson pitched well today in his return to New Hampshire. Austin Martin continues to improve and Samad Taylor is a name to keep an eye on as well. He is leading the Fisher Cats in home runs and his OPS is .949 now, he is only 22 and something has clicked this year. Gabe Moreno doesn't seem to ever have a bad game either. Lot's of promising players in AA this year.

This season was never intended to be a season they go for the play-offs in. That all starts next season. There's a reason they never addressed the starting pitching line up going into the year. The hope was one or two of the young arms would step in when called up and just never leave. Obviously Pearson was the expectation but if Manoah is that guy, then Manoah is that guy.
I don't think anyone expected to see MVP numbers from Vladdy or for Semien to pay off so huge, so I think some people are getting a little antsy like this is a team at the end of it's rope ala 2016/2017 and not a team thats rope is just starting.

I don't think anyone is getting antsy, everyone understands that this is a young team that is still in assembly mode, not win-now mode.
And yes, the long term plan was that this was another building year, with the eye on next year as really turning the corner. It is important (and SOP) to have a long term focus on team construction.
However, you also have to be flexible, and recognize that development doesn't always follow the schedule - sometimes it takes longer, and sometimes it happens quicker. And success is fleeting - if you are having a great year, you need to try and take advantage of that.
Do they mortgage the future for this year? Of course not - that would be a fire-able offence. But if the team continues to play well, and they are still competing for a playoff spot as we move through June, then management owes it to them to get some support and give them a fighting chance to compete.
Don't mortgage the future, but nothing develops champions like winning.

Why does it feel like it's been forever since we've seen Ryu?

I don't disagree. I just don't think they should move anything that doesn't bring back control.

I think it might be a good idea to move some depth prospects for some bullpen help seeing as 4 of their 5 best high leverage guys are out and two of those are done for the year, and the other two can't really be relied on to stay healthy even when they do come back.
As for any position player or starting pitcher adds, I agree 100% that the player coming in should be under control for at least a couple seasons.
