Not really. Rittich came into the Flames system as a 24 year old. He played one season splitting time or as the backup to Gillies, then was brought up after 12 appearances in the AHL the following year. yeah, you're probably right. The Flames had nothing to do with anything. Rittich probably drove himself here from the Czech Republic and suited up and basically said 'Get the F outta the way, Brad'.
