I don't really know
I'm usually of the opinion of not giving her any more publicity, but this is such an egregious remark, in such an extraordinary setting, and the following applause and cheers serve to only highlight the 'wdf'-ness of the comment.
It's not like she's just spewing garbage on hannity and colmes, this is something that like, has even slight credibility.

She's just making a fool out of herself. Nothing more, nothing less.

I realize - but hardly someone who should be questioning peoples sexuality.
I am pretty sure the right-wing in America hates homosexuals about as much as they hate the transgendered/transexuals/cross-dressers/lady-boys/etc (and i doubt they care much about the differences).
I once almost got banned for a rant i went on about her a few years back so... (Death threats are discouraged at CP - just so everyone knows!! )

That's a pretty broad condemnation.

Okay, the EXTREME right wing - although i am pretty sure that the people in the crowd represent a fairly broad right-wing spectrum, and that not a whole lot of lefties were there cheering... but regardless, i am sure it is those further to the right that created the atmosphere where the others felt comfortable enough to cheer too...
That is the very question her behavior continually raises though, is it not? IF righties TRULY disagreed they would condemn her every word - but they do not. So i can only conclude that they agree...

I didn't watch the clip, so I have no idea who was there. Just pointing out that all conservative leaning Americans don't hate homosexuals....and in fact, I'm sure some of them ARE homosexual.

Had you not posted it, I would have never known she said something this dumb.
Great way to unite the country.

So they must hate homosexuals? Is that your implication?
Either way, I don't really find it newsworthy. John Edwards sexuality, or any other candidates' for that matter, has about as much to do with the election as Al Franken's vivid descriptions of President Bush.

You are proving my original point.
Right-wingers ultimately see little wrong with what she says.
Some agree and some like you don't disagree enough to say anything against her.
If she is meaningless and not newsworthy why is the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES attending her speeches? She IS a prominant voice of the right-wing/republican brain trust. She is also a disgusting and hateful person (who does not check her facts and is not particularily knowledgable on any one subject).
I don't know how in good conscience you can just say 'this is not really newsworthy' and leave it at that... that is complicit support more than it is disagreement.
Claeren.

Wow. That's rich. You just said I hate homosexuals. My sister will be horrified.
Tell you what bub, you don't know me so keep your assumptions about me to yourself.
It's ok for you to put a blanket statement on conservatives but I am guilty of something for not screaming at the top of my lungs in opposition?
Give your head a shake.

Would it be news worthy if at the democratic national convention, Al Franken said he'd talk about condoleeza rice, but that "it turns out you have to go to rehab if you use the word 'n!gger'"?

It's not really newsworthy because, despite what you tried to make her out to be, she doesn't matter. That's my opinion and that's why I said it.
That makes me a homosexual hater in your eyes...but really, that's probably because you hate anyone who leans a bit to the right. You've made that clear several times in the past.

Yep. Rice is African American which is what the slur refers to. Edwards is not homosexual.
Is this the same thing though?
Are you going to defend a person who has twice accused me of hating homosexuals?
