Their best players are all children?

So nice to Stripling stringing some solid starts together.

ERA was over 7 a couple weeks ago, then he makes an adjustment and now it's under 5 a few starts later. Keep that going.

Dolis, at his best, is still painful to watch. Dolis, at his most Dolis, is excruciating.

The only way Vladdy could be more impactful on a game would be for him to take the mound. He is unreal.

Yeah, Vladdy is really unbelievable this year. Hopefully he stays in shape, because he is something else the way he is right now. He's consistently improving at 1B and he is way faster on the base paths than you would ever guess.

And the bat....my god the bat.

Crazy to see how good Vladdy has become. Before the season he wasn't even in the top 100 players in the MLB.

I wonder where he will rank now?

It’s amazing to see someone who could barely even handle pop outs in foul territory, balls being thrown from 2nd base to 1st base literally just fall out of his glove to doing the the splits, throwing out base runners and basically leading the league in batting. Just lost a few pounds! Maybe I should lose a couple pounds.

Few = 40 lol. I think everyone overweight would have considerably better lives (work, health, performance, etc) if they lost 40.

Might have been understating things! Still impressive! Vlad Jr is a Blue Jay.

Yeah, that is insane. I've been 195 and hover around 205 these days at 6'2" and that is a completely different physical life, 100%. I couldn't even begin to imagine what 40 pounds means.

I think the most encouraging part of yesterdays game was the work from Mayza and Thornton.

Solis is Solis...mostly really good but can scare the crap out of you.

I have really been havin bad vibes on the overall work of the pen though...between injuries and heavy workload early on, they have been pushed to the limit. Even Romano has looked shaky of late.

Its why when a starter is going well and has a lead, I wish they would just leave him in. Greinke throwing a complete game the other night as an example, is such a huge deal for the Astros pen. I don't know...analytics has taken out the ability of a manager to know the "feel" of the game and manage accordingly and it sucks donkey nuts.

Anyhow, this club has faced more adversity than any other team in baseball for 2 seasons now and answered the bell repeatedly. Huge props to Shatkins, Montoya and crew and especially the players for being consummate pros at a time when no one could have blamed them for being distracted/unfocussed and truly giving Canadian baseball fans a lot of enjoyment the last 100ish games.

Vladdy has to be at the front of the line for MVP too which is an amazing transformation from what we saw last year.

Pretty good time to be a Jays fan.

Ugly, Ugly inning in the field for the Jays. Errors, collisions, misplays.

I hate the Astros.

Austin Martin hit another home run today in New Hampshire. He is starting to figure out AA. His on base is around .400 which is a good sign.

Good to see Martin heating up for sure.

Moreno continues to scorch AA as a 21 year old. And Riley Adam's has an OPS of 1.010 and a 145 wRC+ in AAA. Adams has now hit at every level on the way up the ladder, he looks like he's 100% for real.

Kirk
Adams
Moreno

I highly doubt any team has a collection catchers in their system like this. Too bad Jansen's bat went to complete and utter crap, he could have been an amazing trade chip for the Jays as these young catchers force their way onto the Jays roster. Now he'll likely just be a DFA candidate.

Jays have the day off today and start a series vs the White Sox tomorrow who have the best run differential in all of baseball. Should be a good test for us.

I know its the worst thing you can do, but I cannot wait for the end half of June. Seven vs. Baltimore and 3 vs. Mariners to close out the month. Sure the Flames failed miserably in the same situation vs. the Senators this year, but I figure if the Jays can't go at least 0.600 over those 10 games, they probably don't stand a chance of catching the Rays and even WC is gonna be tough.

So either it will be a great stretch of baseball or it will save me a lot of time watching a lot less future games if we're out of it. Win/Win in a way

Yeah the 4 game weekend wraparound series against the Red Sox will be a big litmus test for the season.

The Jays schedule on the whole has been pretty strange. Strength of schedule aside(as thats just weird luck of the draw) they have had far and away the most off days in the AL East. They only have 1 makeup game but have played 4 games fewer than most teams. I wonder if they did that because of the uncertainty of where they'll be playing to allow for more travel days.

Be curious to see how the stack up against the Whitesox as that's a team that has greatly benefitted from playing in their weak division.
