Crazy Center depth and Marchand/Crosby/Bergeron as a 3rd line is all kinds of unfair for the opponents. Can’t wait for the Olympics!

I think this could be the most electric Olympic team amongst 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2022. You've got a ton of puck moving ability on that blue line, and the McDavid - MacKinnon - Crosby - Point centre depth is terrifying.

I think in this case it could actually be said that line numbering doesn't matter. That Crosby line could easily be the best. Or the MacKinnon line.

...so GER-LAT is not super likely to end in regulation.

The fact Bergeron and O’Reilly are playing wing because there are already too many centres is an embarrassment of riches.

The only concern is the age of the two goalies. Canada hasn’t produced great goalies for a while. Binnington is a pretty big drop off in third place. Though if Talbot plays like he did this year he’d make a push. Same with Driedger.

Here’s a list from SN:

Weber still has to be there, for experience and right handed shot. Ahead of Hamilton for sure, I wouldn't trust Hamilton ever.

I know Latvia is the host and wants the games in primetime but I still think they should have adjusted the schedule so GER/LAT wouldn't know the CAN/FIN result. It's crazy to think that KAZ winning in OT/SO against both GER/LAT has caused this scenario.

There's just one venue in use this year for each group. Covid thing.

Germany is up 2 - 0 though, so looking good for Canada.

Parayko over Weber, especially with Armstrong as GM

I'd have Chabot over Chychrun or Nurse

Oh, GM is Armstrong. Did not know that. Parayko, Weber and Chabot are all good candidates.

Of the three, Chabot is the one I'd most want on my Team Canada.

Let Gio be the 7th D. He was ignored too many times.

ETA: maybe he can have a quiet word with Makar about coming home

Not a chance. Chychrun was arguably the single best D in the league this year. Chabot... wasn't even close.

I suspect you would lose that argument, every time.

Led all NHL D with 18 goals, averaged 23:23 a night, took 173 shots in just 56 games, led all NHL defensemen with 17.3 expected goals above replacement (per Evolving-Hockey).

If I had a Norris vote, it'd go 1) Chychrun, 2) Makar, 3) Weegar. No doubt in my mind Chychrun should be in the top-four for Canada. Chabot really isn't in his ballpark.

With Hedman having one of the worst years of his career, I think the field is definitely a lot more open. It's time for Chychrun to start getting more praise for just how good he is.
