I find it particularly more mystifying that Mangiapane has consistently struggled with staying on his feet when there is no one anywhere near him. Falling down because of contact with other players is totally understandable, but Mangiapane weirdly falls often all on his own and without anyone's help.

Yeah it's one of the strangest traits I have seen from a player. Never seen a player fall down so much on his own.

Norway upsetting Kazakstan means that Canada only needs two points from their last game to get to the playoffs, and even one point might do it.

That was a lucky break for sure. I wonder how hard would Finland play Canada. It would give Finland the chance to eliminate a strong(er) opponent that is starting to gain some stride. On the other hand they might already be looking towards the quarter final match up.
