Piss off, Blue Jays.
I hate games when we pretty much had it in the bag, and find a way to crumble.
With how bad Chatwood has been, I don’t think that is the time that you try to let him “try and come back.”
100% on Montoyo.

He probably should have just pulled Matz, but he was pitching even better than Stripling and you didn’t know he would fall apart so fast. I don’t understand why someone else wasn’t warmed up for the 7th with Chatwood having already pitched in the sixth.

Yeah. The Jays beat themselves in this one. Clearly gave the win away to a lesser team.

What happened is indefensible.
Jays have played 5 consecutive 7 inning games, with an off day yesterday and an off day tomorrow. The starters have just about all gone deep in those 5 games too.
What exactly are we saving the pen for?
Montoyo is the dumbest manager I’ve ever seen on the Jays. Can we please have Gibby back?

This is why you don't pick up the option on an unproven manager for another year before the start of his last year even starts.

Feel bad for the players. They must be wondering the same thing during that 7th inning.
Most of them where just in disbelief starring at the field after the game and I don't think they were blaming Chatwood.

Another embarrassing outing for Chatwood.
The bull pen was rested but they keep chatwood in for the 7th?? Come on.
Nothing is more frustrating that letting the other team get back in the game because of walks. If they're scoring runs, fine, but if you just walk guys across the plate??
Embarrassing.

I wonder if this is paying Chatwood back for what he did last time he was pulled. Last time he got super upset and called out the team and they leave him in this time. I’d rather they just have pulled him and sent Castro out to start the seventh.

The Jays are not going to take that next step to being a legit contender with Montoyo as coach. He’s a lightweight coach.

I hope not. You can't afford to take the L just to send a message to a relief pitcher. If you're not happy with him, don't play him. Especially when you haven't had to get deep into the bull pen in the last 3-4 games.

Montoyo should apologize to his team. Worst piece of managing I have ever seen.
It started with the first game when he took Stripling out too early, resulting in both Dolis and Romano being used, and thus not ready. Let Stripling throw the 6th, and Dolis the 7th.
Then in game 2, having Chatwood throwing nothing but balls, and the game is plipping away, and he has no one up? Whattheserious####? A 10 year old has another pitcher up. And again, handle the 1st game properly, and you have Romano for the 2nd one.
If the Jays don't make the playoffs this year, it will be because they have not only the worst manager in the game, but the worst I have ever seen. And I'm old.

Chatwood has lost any good will he made from the start of the season.
In terms of leverage I would go
1. Romano
2. Dolis
After that I don't know who is 3rd, 4th, 5th etc?
My question is how would you rank the guys in terms of bullpen leverage?

He could have made that same point and still had someone else ready, and pulled him out before the game was lost.
There is no excuse for what just happened. Beyond incompetent.
If bad decisions were only periodic, you could forgive him. But he makes boneheaded decisions like this all the ####ing time.

The Yankees got swept by Detroit. How often are you going to get that kind of help with the standings? And they had a sweep of the Indians in the palm of Montoyo's hands...
Absolutely disgusting to watch the manager blow games for these kids.

Chatwood was pitching so damn well to begin the season that I thought the Jays had a found a diamond in the rough again. It looks like he might be too emotional to be a consistent reliever.
Just bad game management for a double header. The Jays have 3 decent relievers healthy right now. Well 2 after today with Chatwood stinking up the joint. And they decided to blow Dolis and Romano in the early game when they didn't give their starter a chance to go the distance for them. Again, I understand that the 3rd time through the order is a "thing" right now, but at some point these managers have to stop taking analytics as absolutes and manage the game as they see it.
Still won the series which is a positive but with the Rays and RedSox going on massive heaters the Jays need to go on a couple of their own to make up some ground.
But how ####ing fun are the bats? Just absolutely destroying baseballs.

I imagine Montoyo went with his blue chip relievers in the first game today to lock down the series win.
