I didn't say all of them weren't and I'm friends with quite a few of those "blondes" at the games, but dont sit their and tell me their ALL hardcore fans or big fans of the game. Of course there is a select few but I'm guessing a good percentage of them are not.

What? Don't girls find a skilled hockey player attractive?
The girl behind me last game kept yelling numbers. Then awould ask her dad who the player was. They arrived at the conculsion that number twenty was Tanguay. Oh and also she kept yelling for Flames players to hit the goalie.

I'm really surprised at how much of an issue this it. I understand the women wanting to see men on the jumbotron as well, but good luck getting the cameramen (who are typically men) to pick out good looking guys. I honestly don't care, I think most of the jubotron segments are crap. Also has anyone here really thought about the fact that a lot of girls these days always dress this way? The last 3-5 years during unversity (I'm now done) I first worked concert security then I was a doorman at the den for the past 3-3.5 years and I can easily say that the amount of clothing that girls wore decreased by quite a lot, just in that time frame.
Also I've been at the game and they've showed women in jersey's etc, who were not attractive. I think people are just picking this segment out. Really who the hell cares what other people are wearing, or how their hair is dyed. Although they may be attractive they aren't the kind of girls I like, not really a big deal.. If they were showing "good looking" men on the jumbotron I wouldn't care. Society has its typical idea of what is attractive, right now a lot of men find blonde, hardly any clothes, etc attractive, if the typical idea of beauty were something else, people would have a problem with that being shown as well.. You'll never be able to keep everyone happy no matter what you show.
I agree with burninator, the jumbotron shows a lot of segments and a lot of people.

Yeah some of these girls do go there to talk and not watch hockey. But it seems like you're making out true female Flames fans to be butch and unattractive. Which is not the case at all.

I get what she is saying. But it is coming across as a correlation between the amount of make up you are wearing and how much of a fan you are. I am just trying to say that just because a girl doesn't look like a "hockey fan" doesn't mean she isn't one.

exactly Firefly!!! seeing those girls pisses me off... I paid money to come see this game, not girls gone wild. I feel that I am an attractive girl, but I know my hockey and am not about to be making out with my friends or lift my shirt over my head to have some drunk men leer at me. I come to games to watch hockey and cheer the flames.

I understand that. We can't judge someone based on their looks like that. Regardless, the jumbotron guys needs to pick more 'real women' to showcase instead of attention whores. If you don't give attention whores the attention they want, in theory, they stop being that way. In theory. Anyways, reward the women for buying their Flames gear, not for buying too many beers.

c'mon if they were showing good looking men, who kissed each other and took of their shirts to reveal their biceps AND who didn't know about hockey...it would be an issue

What about the one girl they show- you can only see her face. It's a bit of a round face- she's looking away then looks into the camera as if somebody just mentions she's on the jumbotron. They don't show her as being scantily clad.
She is a cute kid however.

I don't think I even addressed the kissing aspect yes that would probably be an issue for a lot of people, I wouldn't really care.. HOWEVER
1. I have no way of knowing how much hockey knowledge they have based on the jumbotron.... Just because someone looks like a moron doesn't mean they are.
2. If they showed a couple guys who took their shirts off and showed their biceps I wouldn't care... Seriously, how many times do they show guys who paint letters on themselves etc.. I don't care...
Should I get mad that streakers at the hockey game get more attention than me? Who cares?? Maybe I should get mad that they show two old people kissing on the jumbotron, I want to be on the jumbotron and I don't want to be old and married to have to get on there...
Seriously if two girls want to get stupid and kiss on the jumbotron who cares. I've seen them show two guys wearing different team jersey's on the smooch cam, should that make me mad?? I've seen the guy's pretend to kiss (hands over the mouth), should I be bothered by the fact that they are on the jumbotron? I just really don't see the big deal... It always seemed to me that they showed a lot of different people on the jumbotron..
Strangely, I don't really remember them showing a ton of hot girls on the jumbotron that last game I was at (last fall).. Hmm.. I guess I just really don't see the big deal, though I don't get offended easily...

Tank tops are skank shirts? You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but IMO, a tank top is not a skank shirt, except maybe at a funeral.
Really though, I think the point being discussed is whether our beloved flames should be using sex to sell their product. I don't think they are, they are using it as entertainment.
Corporatejay made a good point earlier when he mentioned that a montage of Phaneuf hits or Iggy goals might be a little more appropriate for a hockey game, and I agree with that. But some of you guys have got to be kidding (or else gay) (not that there's anything wrong with that [/seinfeld]) if you don't like seeing good looking women at games, either on the scoreboard during a montage, or walking around between periods.
I thought I was on a hockey messageboard, not a Little House on the Prairie messageboard.

That is true. I was just trying to be a smart aleck. I just know I don't want to be on the jumbotron cause I don't usually wear makeup to Flames games and I'm a little on the pale side so I don't want to see myself that big and that clear. Scary!
