Ya, maybe it's your attitude when encountering our neighbors from the south. I travel to the States 5 or 6 times a year and always feel welcomed by the locals. America is a great country to visit, and as a Victorian I also enjoy all the tourists that venture up here to visit.

No, he's just saying there are two types of people in the world: those who willingly stick watermelons on their heads, and those who don't.

What a lame policy. I feel bad for the kid as one of his early tastes of live NHL playoff hockey should not be negative as it's just not good business for the league.

What a stupid policy...I want to meet the loser that came up with that and the clowns that agreed to implement it.

I just wanted to play Devil’s advocate a little. Soccer has been doing something similar for a while now. In soccer you have home fan sections, away fan sections, and mixed fan sections. The away team is assigned an X amount of tickets it can sell to its fans. A fan can buy tickets anywhere, but you won’t be able to sit in the home sections(and sometimes even mixed sections) wearing the opposition colours. It’s a safety thing because fans sometimes get drunk, stupid and look for a fight.
Now I think the lightning should be allowed to have their policy, but I also think that it could’ve been done better. Especially if they had a dedicated section to away fans. In that case they could just reseat the fans.

"you're giving me attitude and you're being very nice to me".

OK...I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was agitated but my spider sense was tingling at that comment.

This is not unreasonable. I don't like that people can be told what to wear, but there is some logic to what you're saying.

I don't imagine the Lightning have an away section and I agree, they needed to have a better solution ready to go.

If that was the policy simply move them to another non club seat with either similiar or better sight lines. The way they handled this was absolute garbage.

I mean I've been pretty drunk but never got drunk enough to want to throw hands with an 11-year old Oilers fan. Then again, the arena IS full of Florida Men, so maybe these precautions are necessary.

They called him before the game and told him he and his son could sit there in his jersey.

Having watched the video, I'm totally on the side of the Panteros fan. I thought he handled it pretty well given his kid was there, and he was getting f-ed out of the game and several hundred dollars.

A staff member called him and told him it was ok. The first words out of those 2 employees mouths should have been "you can't sit here, we screwed up when we called you, here's how we're going to make it right" followed by a move to a suite, or roughly equivalent seats, a ton of merch for kid, and several rounds of free food and bev.

Instead, one of them said she was calling the cops. Jesus.

But I guess when you get to cheat your way to championships, you get arrogant about your fanbase.

TB can go suck a bag of dicks.

I suppose it's possible they offered relocation and he declined, but didn't include it in the video. But I guess I doubt it?

I have been to Oilers games with Oilers employees in Oilers owners seats and have been told I couldn't wear my Flames jersey.

If you care enough about sports that having an opposing teams fan in your section riles you up and you can't control yourself, you are a loser and you shouldn't be there.

End of story.

Edit: not YOU the person I am quoting, the royal YOU

What a bunch of insecure losers.

Aren’t sports supposed to be fun? I can’t believe this is so common.
