Back in 2015 Lightning also started a policy that they would cancel and refund any tickets for people who bought playoff tickets with addresses out of Florida state. They claimed they were doing it to create a better home atmosphere.

Away jerseys are only banned in the club seats.

It’s a pathetic dick move from a hilariously insecure franchise, but just pointing out the context. They don’t do this for like 95% of the building.

Vegas did the same thing last year. They even cancelled season tickets from people who lived out of state, I believe one family had four seats and lived in Edmonton.

edit. Calgary family and they cancelled them because they were reselling them at discounted rates.

It is different but just shows you that the team has a right to decide who has access to "their" product. I know the Tampa owner in the past has said no tickets would be sold to fans for out of town teams in the playoffs as he wants Tampa fans to enjoy their team in the playoffs.

Never, ever forget.

The Tim Taylor trophy tour took a trip to Stratford's City Hall, where better than 3,000 fans waited on the opportunity to see hometown hero Tim Taylor and the Stanley Cup. There was a nominal charge for photographs and autographs, with Tim donating the proceeds to minor hockey in Stratford. A couple wearing bright red Calgary Flames jerseys stood in line and wanted their photos taken with the Stanley Cup. "I'm sorry," Tim explained, "but that's just disrespect towards all the work Tampa put into winning the Cup. No way."

That POS team from Nashville started BS like this by banning Blackhawk fans from getting tickets to their Arena.

I wonder what these thin skinned knuckleheads would make of my Gilles Meloche Golden Seal jersey?

American's for the most part aren't gracious and if the Panther's win in Tampa wearing their jersey might get you shot.

Just more reason to hate this franchise.
To be clear, you mean you visited Tampa, yes? I've attended countless Panthers games and that has NEVER been a policy. In fact, they often cater to countless snowbirds coming to watch their teams in Florida because they can't get an affordable ticket back home. When the Leafs, Habs, Rangers, or Bruins play, the arena is usually 50/50 with visiting jerseys.

So be it, let any fan attend any game, so long as they aren't disruptive. What the hell is their problem?

Everything about this sentence is incorrect.

I hope it becomes easier to travel across the border soon because some of you need to really experience America again (or for the first time). I think you'd be genuinely shocked at how normal things are here.

I love the U.S., but America doesn't start at your border.

This must apply to playoffs only. I attended a regular-season game in Tampa against the Hawks, a few years ago. There were more Blackhawk jerseys than Tampa ones in the crowd. I was sporting my Johnny Gaudreau jersey and the only people who cared were Hawks fans. They made joking comments such as “right colour, wrong team”. When they saw Johnny’s name on the back, I got comments such as “great player, I wish he played for us”. Nobody cared that I was wearing the jersey of a team that wasn’t playing. Snowbirds bring a lot of regular season ticket sales to the Florida teams.

Disgusting.

Really hope Florida steps up and does/says something on behalf of this loyal fan. You know your franchise is fragile when you have to deplore absurd and bull#### tactics to try and keep your building under the appearance that only Tampa Fans turn out for games etc.

Cant believe the league let this happen.... wtf kind of world are we in here... they should be happy ANY FANS show up at this point post pandemic.

Absolute joke.
