Development wise, I'm certain there will be some draft picks headed their way to make sure certain players are not selected. That is going to immediately swell their prospect ranks. Add in Calgary's terrible prospect depth and it is very likely the Kraken will have been prospects going into next season. They will also be able to buy their minor league team and have a number of good young players at their disposal.
Coaching wise, they are going to have the pick of the market, and that market looks to be opening up. Sutter is what Sutter is, and I don't think he's a coach for this league anymore. Seattle will have the pick of the litter. Good position to be in, especially when it comes to working with the talent they will have access to.
So please, tell me where I'm wrong in this postulation? Or is this you just being you and not seeing what is obvious?

The NHL has setup a system where the expansion team is guaranteed NHL talent, and some of it will be very good talent. In a league where depth is the difference maker, the Kraken are guaranteed depth right out of the gate.

You don't have to bet, that's up to you.
But a guy that talks with so much confidence in something happening being asked if he's put money where is mouth is isn't a stupid question in my mind.
It's a good way to put a speed bump in front of your bravado and worked pretty well!

Naw, it's obnoxious internet tough guy bull####. Instead of trying to debate or counter the position all it did was distract from the point made. The reality is that the Kraken will likely have 25-30 NHL players to pick their active roster from. That is more than the Flames will have. Try to deny that fact. The Flames will not have that luxury. Care to actually debate that, or would you prefer to continue to play these stupid little games? I'll even let you use a spreadsheet if it will give you a little more confidence to engage in actual discussion.

If all NHL players were equal, that would matter.

Betting is a good way to call out BS...if someone actually felt that confident they would be happy to make a few bills. Heck, even an avatar bet lets go.

Which could still mean they're in the playoffs.

I wouldn't be very surprised to see any permutation of the second line make the playoffs. The only combo that would really surprise me is all 3 California teams in.

One of the only attractions for them of Lucic’s contract is that his signing bonus means he’s only paid $2.5M over the remainder of the year. Assuming the bonus is paid by Calgary on July 1, he helps get to the floor but only costs $2.5 for a $6MM AAV. The next year he gets paid $4M including bonus.

Their best bet is shorter term 'bad' money deals with sweeteners attached, but still good enough players to be leaders and have value at the TDL retained. A lot of those kind of deals are cheaper in real $$.

Oh and what bet did you win? Cause everyone predicted Vegas to be at the bottom when they started too. Not saying Seattle will be any good.

Calgary>Vancouver was the only $$$ bet I made
Calgary>Sens was a farmers bet
Nothing is guaranteed 100%...this guy is on here saying it is "VERY LIKELY" they are better than the Flames so I called it out. Possible? sure but not likely IMO.

Except I said better depth. I didn't say better team, as they are likely to lack top end talent unless they dip into free agency. They should have better depth, especially below the top line and top pair.

And many posters here heavily criticized the picks and trades they made, suggesting their GM did a very poor job in not getting enough current value, instead getting too much future value.

I don’t recall if I posted it, but I thought he’d gotten trapped between fielding a competitive team off the bat and one that was designed to build slowly into a really good one, and wound up with a really mediocre one.

Goalposts...so you don't think they will be better than Calgary. Got it

We have enough witnesses and a thread to follow up on it

Based on your lets bet bravado with everyone else you seem super confident. I'm also betting on a squad that doesn't even have a roster at the moment. 1.5 seems super reasonable, it should be more.
Not sure why I would be giving you odds, i'm sure when the Stanley Cup odds are released for 2022, Calgary will be higher than Seattle regardless of who they pick in expansion.
$150 (me) to $100 (you) i'm game. I have one caveat though, if the Flames acquire Jack Eichel in the off season, bet is void. Any other Flames transactions are fair game.

LOL the whole reason I brought up the bet is because of another posters bravado saying they would be better....he obviously doesn't actually believe that and now its looking like you don't either.
If you actually think Seattle will be better bet straight up
If you need odds and stipulations you are agreeing with me that its less likely Seattle is better which is all I have said

Couldn't be further from the truth, I'm actually willing to make a bet. Seems as though 1.50 odds ($50) is scaring you off and you don't seem as confident. I'm betting blind without an actual roster, surely you would understand why I'm asking for a small boost. At the end of the day, terms need to be agreed to, it would be silly for me not to negotiate when taking the side of an expansion team that has yet to be formed.
