Shootout has been way better than the game, every penalty quality so far.

Goalie on goalie violence to end it. Emery League reigns supreme.

sucks for De Gea. But he wouldn't have saved any of the next 30 either, so ...

Those were outrageous penalties by guys who never in their dreams would expect to be taking them, quality all around!

The secondary winner is Spurs who will now no longer have to face Villarreal in the Conference League

The real winner is the idea that when you leave spurs, the trophies just start rolling in

This season alone, it took poch like 2 weeks to get one at psg, Eriksen won the league in italy, Capoue and foyth just won the Europa league, nkoudou won with Besiktas, walker is about to win a champions league, Skipp won the championship, trippier won la liga

Foyth has to go back to Spurs though!

The answer is simple. Harry Kane to Man City on a one year loan. He can win the quadruple and like a mid-twenties woman in a toxic relationship, come crawling back to the emotional heartbreak that is spurs.

everyone wins

Rumor is they will trigger his buy option, but Skipp is a loan to Norwich as well, so it just proves you don't have to fully leave spurs, just get away from the day to day. Lloris and Sissoko have world cup wins in their summers away from the club

yup. United were effed as soon as it went to pens without Solskjaer doing a van Gaal ... you simply can't win a shootout with De Gea.

To be fair the biggest difference Henderson might have made was in taking the 22nd penalty. I think of the first 20 combined penalties there were maybe two or three that any goalie had a decent chance to save. It was one of the higher quality shootouts we'll see.

Maybe ManU should have tried in extra time.

obviously. They weren't good enough in general, and Solskjaer failed to switch things up.

not putting it on De Gea and not advocating to switch goalies for the shootout as a rule. But if your keeper is that terrible at pens, it has to be considered. Henderson is pretty good at pens, plus he's the kind of cocky, arrogant guy that probably thrives in these situations. De Gea isn't.

I didn't watch this, but the irony of Penchester United losing on penalties is not lost on me.
