Forgetting their NMCs for a moment, would they move him for Patrick Kane+? Because that's exactly how long they'd have Tkachuk...
If they can't get a potential top C (Byfield), I think they'd target a D (ideally RD to partner Dahlin) and/or goalie as the 'flashy centrepiece'.

Swedish RDc(to pair Dahlin) with the most term = Andersson.
Depending how things play out for NAS, could we see one of the 8M boys + Ellis (or maybe Fabbro++)?

Kane has shown no inclination to move.
But that’s an interesting proposal.
Chicago with Eichel and Dach down the middle.
Duchene and Johansson both stink, more or less.

It isn't mandatory to take part in the discussion. Plenty of threads where you can complain about the GM. This thread is to discuss possible trades.
If that topic isn't of interest to you - no need to participate.

I listened to the instigators radio show / podcast out of Buffalo last week.
I want no part of Eichel. He wants to have the same neck surgery Peyton Manning had, and no hockey player has ever had. Buffalo wants better opinions.
I have trouble seeing how he’s even tradable at this point.

Manning had his career year after his surgery. Surgery 2011 and best year of his career yards and TD wise in 2013.

I don't have a problem with it frankly. When it comes to an athletes health the teams generally don't necessarily have their long term interest in mind as their primary driver for the decisions they make. Without a doubt Eichel has qualified people informing him this is the way to go. My understanding is that it's not a common surgery so the argument of is it safe for an athlete, is TBD. Do we think Eichel is going to put his career at total risk? I'd think not unless secretly he has a hate for the game. I personally don't think he'd fit here as a trade partner (unless it's for Monahan, at which point another team can up the offer). It is a risk that many teams should take to acquire an elite talent.
With that said, CP is a funny place. One minute most here recognize Eichel as an elite talent, and despite the terrible terrible season on his part, they'd give up their left nut for him. On the other hand, many on here think Tkachuk will be a difficult task to trade because of his $9MM contract. If anything we've learned over the years, guys with a skillset with reasonable contracts can definitely command a kings ransom even in a covid market. Look at Dubois' return strictly based on the skillset. Teams would be lined up for Tkachuk even at that salary. I personally think Monahan and Gaudreau are gonners, but think all three should be explored to see what could be had for a rebuild.

He had 18 points in 21 games with Buffalo, a team that basically didn't score. Goals were down but again that team was just a disaster.
How many Flames had 18 points after the first 21 games?

Avangard Omsk has acquired Kylington's KHL rights. Might not mean anything and could be a pure speculative move. Omsk is coached by Bob Hartley (although rumored to be interviewing for NHL jobs) and the reigning KHL champions.

Might be pulling a Gio. Flames still hold his rights as an RFA if he goes to the KHL.

If Kylington is in the KHL, can Seattle take him?

Yes. If that scenario were to occur, they would be taking his NHL rights.

From my understanding, yes. The NHL and KHL don’t have a transfer agreement. That way, while Kylington plays in the KHL Seattle would hold his rights in the NHL.

Playing big minutes for Bob would be huge for his development! I hope he does it!

Bob may not be there next year. I thought it was down to Hartley and Gallant for the Rangers job.

I’ve never heard it was down to them. In fact the only Bob connection I’ve heard was articles saying “hey, Drury knows that guy from Colorado”. Someone asked Bob about it at the WCs and he just said “I’m here to coach Latvia”.
Whereas, the Rangers have definitely gone out and got Vegas’ permission to speak to Gallant.
